It's that time. There's a chill in the air, the days are getting shorter (at least where I live), the snow is on it's way....and little kids are starting to dream about an endless supply of free candy, given to them by total strangers...but in a good way.

Yes it's almost October, the horror fans favourite month and as we've done every year, we're going to watch a crap load of horror flicks and then come on HorrorDigital.com and brag about them. That's what this thread is for. You can list horror movies you've watched, you can brag about how many you watched in one day, you can give recommendations....just don't tell us how you watched the latest rom/com or family channel movie. We only want horror or at least genre related stuff here!! Ok? Cool.

So anyway I'll be starting my October marathon at 12:00 am with the usual Silver Bullet. The one I start off with each and every year. Which will be your first? Which ones are you looking forward to watching in the coming month?

All I know is that I look forward to this every year. So enjoy!!!

Oh yeah, for some reason for the last month I've been dying to have a double bill of Trick r' Treat and Trick or Treat. Not sure why, they just both popped into my head one day and I've been fighting hard not to watch them until October.

    Finally :D

My current October viewing list consists of 85 selected "back up" titles because I will be adding and watching new purchases during October as well.
Four movies I always try to watch every year are Let's Scare Jessica To Death, Halloween (1978), Halloween III: Season of the Witch and The Blair Witch Project.
Not sure what my first October movie will be though.

I've spent the last few days trying to narrow down what I'll be watching this year, and it's been pretty rough. Sadly, I already know that one-a-day isn't going to happen this year, but I'm hoping to at least get 31 in by midnight on Halloween. I also am trying to narrow down about 15 hours of halloween-y movies, specials, and shorts for a Halloween bash that the wife and I are throwing on the 30th......Still not sure what I'll be watching Thursday at midnight yet....

Yeah I was a little busy with overtime the last few weeks :)

I actually have a couple of stacks piled on my coffee table of movies I want to watch. Mostly stuff I've purchased over the last year. Going to try and watch mostly movies I've never seen before, but I'm sure An American Werewolf In London, Near Dark, Wolfen, Black Christmas, Halloween, Spider Baby and Suspiria will get watched before the end of the month. Also have a lot of giallos to view. Not sure if you'd technically call them horrors but close enough for me.

    Can't wait till the first!!!

    FINALLY! :joshua:

All I want for Halloween is for maskull to have a visible avatar. That's all.

Now I gotta find a pumpkin avatar and start planning my list. Hoo-ray!

Can't wait, boys! Every October I like to try and tackle a new franchise, so this year I'm going to try to either rope my lady into watching the HOWLING sequels or the AMITYVILLE sequels. I've already had a nice little prelude by finally watching the OMEN and PSYCHO sequels recently, so I'm all geared to go!

And yeah, maskull finally getting an avatar would be as epic as curing world hunger.

Shit, Halloween season already? Where did the time go?

I thought I'd try something a lil different this year. For the first 28 or 29 days I'll be watching nothing but horror films I haven't seen before! While the final weekend will be spent watching my Halloween favorites. I can't wait!

I'm not sure if I can pull it off but I'm going to try to watch all the Nightmare on Elm Street movies in a row without sleeping. I think this run time would be 19 hours (including Never Sleep Again). I'm doubtful but have to try.

Started my October viewing a little early, on Saturday.

    On Saturday, I Watched:

    Night Of The Living Dead
Night Of The Living Dead '90 Remake

Sunday, while my husband was at the KC Chiefs game:

    Dawn Of The Dead
    Day Of The Dead
    Land Of The Dead
    Diary Of The Dead

Don't have Survival Of The Dead yet, but will view it sometime in during the October Horror Fest.

My usual October kickoff movie is Pieces. I'll be doing the same this year. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Can't wait. I dream about it all year. Now it's just a question of what to kick it off with.

What I try to do is start off with the lesser films in my collection.

The pile of DVDs and Blu-rays that I need to watch is out of control. I spent the last few years in an all-consuming job that ate up nearly all my time.

I left it and I'm not starting a new one until at least November 1. So I'm shooting for an average of 2 flicks a day this October. There are quite a few obscure ones in my pile that I haven't seen before (X-Ray, Bloodstalkers, Blood Beach, From Hell It Came, Moon of the Wolf) or haven't seen in years (Dark Secret of Harvest Home, Crowhaven Farm, Stephen King's It, The Town That Dreaded Sundown). That's a good start right there.

First time viewings in red; ratings out of five stars

    Ratings:
    -* :)fuck::fuck::fuck::fuck::fuck:)
    * (Fuck you!)
    ** (Fuck this shit)
    *** (Fuck)
    **** (Fuck yeah!)
    ***** (Fuck me!)

    October

01 Pig Hunt **** (Tons of fun!)
02 Carnivale - Season 1 disk 5 *** (this started strong, but is a little too slow moving. Great characters though)
02 Angel Heart **** (this classic holds up pretty well)
    03 Slither ***** (I love this movie!)
03 Deep Rising **** (Great fun - I wish they had made a sequel)
04 The Host ***** (hilariously funny in parts; great movie)
05 30 Days of Night: Dark Days * (completely fucking retarded; lame, stupid, boring, obvious, cliche-ridden suckfest)
06 Human Centipede *** (almost four stars. Better and campier than I expected.)
07 Bubba Ho-Tep **** (Suck the dog dick of Anubis, ass-wipe!)
08 Carnivale - Season 1 disk 6 ***** (this ended strong, and now I need to watch season 2)
09 Matango: Attack of the Mushroom People **** (one of my favorite Saturday monster movies)
09 Mr Vampire ***** (one of the best horror comedies ever, and a great vampire movie to boot)
10 Cemetery Man *** (usually I love this movie; I must not have been in the right mood for it, it really dragged today)
11 Necrophagia: Through Eyes of the Dead *** (fucked up shit!)
12 Head of the Family *** (goofy, silly fun)
13 Forbidden World: Director's Cut ** (cheesy-bad movie; shitty transfer)
15 Horror Rises from the Tomb **** (really great movie!)
15 Baise Moi **** (this movie is fucked up, down, and sideways. I like it)
    16 Dark Waters (1993) ***** (such a beautiful movie; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109550/)
16 Zombieland ***** (cardio, seatbelts, and enjoy the little things)
16 Neighbor *** (better than I expected; not bad overall)
17 They Came Back (2004) *** (I forgot I had seen this already - it's ok, but a little slow)
19 Night of the Demons (2010) *** (some really good stuff, some not so great stuff)

21 Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl -* (like the guys behind "Superhero Movie" tried to make a Japanese Troma film aimed at a retarded 5 year old with brain damage. But it's much worse than that, and dumber.)

22 Carnivale - Season 2 disk 1 *** (not sure about the start of this season, hopefully it will pay off)
23 The Exorcist ***** (this has really aged well)
23 Dead Alive ***** (bloody good, bloody good)
24 Inferno (Arrow DVD) ***** (beautiful and awesome)
25 Infestation **** (very fun movie, in the same vein as Slither and Deep Rising)
    26 House (Hausu) ***** (a perfect WTF)
27 Evil Aliens ***** (I love this movie)
    28 Carnivale - Season 2 disk 2 *** (it's ok)
29 Ringu ***** (this one does everything right)
30 Carnivale - Season 2 disk 3 ***** (two of the best episodes of the show, from either season)
30 Immortal - Live at Wacken 2007 ***** (great show!)
31 Anthrax Megadeth Slayer Metallica live from Sonisphere Festival ***** (awesome)

i'm totally new to this, but stoked on the idea...i've been rabidly collecting vhs lately and 98 percent of the films i've never seen, so that's likely where i'm going for my inaugural horrordigital halloween film fest...

    the day is here...

October 1: Ulli Lommel's The Boogey Man as featured on Anchor Bay's split with The Devonsville Terror...
