Throwback horror films are very hit or miss, but this looks pretty promising.

    Synopsis
Its Halloween 1989, best friends Sam and Josh are trying to enjoy what's left of their final Devil's Night before graduating high school. But trouble arises when the two pals and a group of friends take a detour on their way to a rock concert, finding an old abandoned barn and awakening the evil inside. Now it's up to Sam and Josh to find a way to protect their friends and defeat the creatures that lurk within "The Barn"

Yeah, the second one was a huge improvement over the first one :)
Let's hope it delivers the goods.

Ditto on the second trailer. Loved the demon introductions.

The first trailer has the best tagline though:

    Trick or Treat
    Smell My Feet
    ... AND DIE!

    Looks fun.

Someone really liked the trailer for The Burning and made that first one, huh?

    This looks pretty good tbh.

I seem to be the only one preferring the first trailer :) This looks like it could be fun! Some of these throwback movies are good, but it seems to be hit or miss. The Final Girls was a big hit for me, I hope this one is too!

Misfire my arse. This looks like it has more love and care than most horror films that come out in theaters. It looks like a lot of fun.

That was the funniest part. She needs to change her name if she ever leaves the horror scene.

I'd of picked this up, but flat rate shipping to the UK is $17. I can't pay £30 for a blind buy DVD..... especially since I guess a BD will be released near Halloween next year at a much lower price.

Has anyone taken the gamble on this yet?

I'm thinking about it. The DVD is pretty steep at $26 shipped. If a blu-ray does come out in the fall though, I'd feel burned. Did you hear any confirmation of that, Buechlers_beard?

I contributed to the Indiegogo and have the DVD but haven't taken the time to watch it yet.

    I don't think there's been any confirmation of a Blu-Ray, thus far.

Is it a DVD-R or a pressed disc?

    It is a pressed disc.

Given the production choices made, I don't think this film would really benefit from a Blu-Ray release. It's stylized in a way to give an 80's rental vibe and features a lot of retro effects. It's 2.35:1, but the color space has been manipulated to make it look like a faded VHS.

The soundtrack is pretty good, ranging from a synths to metal to rockabilly. Surprisingly, it's presented via 48 khz, 16 bit, LPCM stereo. Probably the highlight of the film.

The cast is... not great, and some of the story elements are a little hokey and undercooked, but there's definitely fun to be had. The film actually moves along at a pretty brisk pace.

All in all, I think it's a pretty fun film, but one that favors style over substance.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered. Also threw in the poster for an extra $2. $27.99 shipped for the DVD, PC game, and poster.
