Here's the latest details from Arrow Video...

Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond on Blu-ray & DVD

Lucio Fulci’s masterpiece of face chewing Spider action, milky eyed psychics, face melting embalming fluid and rotted, flesh-crazed Zombies returns in all its blood splattered, surreal and grossly disturbing glory for a new generation of Horror Kids!

If your new business venture is sited on the cursed gateway to the hell dimension of The Beyond, then maybe it’s time to move elsewhere but Liza (Catriona MacColl) is determined to make her New Orleans hotel work, until strange things start happening, people vanish and her waking thoughts are haunted by a ghostly blind woman who seems to hold the answers to the whole bizarre fever-dream. As reality breaks down and the plot explodes, Liza must journey far from everything she understands and descend in The Beyond...

The Beyond is Fulci’s Zombie masterwork as he assaults his audience with shock after head spinning shock, all the while leading up to one of horror cinemas most heart stopping finales. The Beyond drives sane men mad and leads others to murder. Dare you step over to the other side?

These Arrow releases really do scream BUY ME ! I was browsing in hmv today and looking at a couple of their dvd releases, which are exactly the same as the blu ray versions. The artwork is amazing, and the package is heavy !

I'm sitting down with A Bay of Blood on blu right now! :) Arrow Video has really been generous with blu-rays of horror movies that are not exactly mainstream, and they certain deserve all the support they can get from the genre film communities.

That said, The Beyond was never a favourite of mine. I revisit it from time to time, and I am always taken out of the movie because it is so wildly uneven.

Are all the Arrow releases multi-region?

This is amazing. I would let Arrow have their way with me if they wanted.

    So far, YES.

But their Battle Royale Special Edition that will come out in early 2011 will be region locked by demand of Toei. If you want Battle Royale region free you have to buy their Limited Edition.

This has been the Blu-Fulci release I've been waiting for. So far it's home run after home run with my purchases of Bay of Blood and Inferno.

If Arrow's releases are multi-region, will they play on the PS3?

The movie will play fine on all PS3.

There are some reports that some extras won´t play on NTSC PS3 because of the PAL signal that they were recorded but I cannot confirm that as my PS3 is european.

The extras on the COTLD blu-ray won't play on my PS3. The movie itself plays fine but the extras won't. Out of the five Arrow Blu's I have only the COTLD extra won't play for me.

Only one extra on the COTLD Arrow BluRay is in PAL. The rest are in HD and should play fine on the PS3. I believe it's the first extra on the disc.

According to Amazon.co.uk, both releases (DVD and BD) will be released on january 17 not february 14.

Is this correct? Or does amazon constantly have errors regarding dates?
