      The Blob (1958)
An innovative blend of '50s schlock sci-fi paranoia and good old fashioned teen delinquency shapes The Blob into a cult classic experience of mass proportions!

Moulding the genre with chills and thrills, director Irvin S. Yeaworth (Dinosaurus!) places a troup of troubled teenagers into the middle of mayhem when a mysterious creature from another planet lands in their small township and spreads itself across the landscape in a gelatinous state of lingering menace. Determined to warn the public of impending doom, young Steve Andrews (action hero Steve McQueen in his first starring role) charges his classic Plymouth Cranbrook convertible into action and rises to the impossible blood-curdling challenge.

      The Blob (1988)
In a tiny California town, high school students Brian (Kevin Dillon, Entourage), Meg (Shawnee Smith, SAW) and Paul (Donovan Leitch Jr, Glory) discover an unusual gelatinous substance with the ability to remove flesh off any living creatures in its path. The deadly blob-like matter infiltrates the town's sewer system and continues to grow exponentially, threatening the lives of unsuspecting townspeople.A grisly and inspired remake of the 1958 Steve McQueen B-Movie classic, with an acute angle on horror, The Blob is directed by Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3) and adapted by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption).

      Son of Blob (1972)
A technician brings a frozen specimen of the original Blob back from the North Pole. When his wife accidentally defrosts the thing, it terrorizes the populace, including the local hippies, kittens, and bowlers.

      The Blob (1958)

Audio Commentary with Director Irvin S. Yeaworth, Jr

      The Blob (1988)

Wasn't there also a Blob with... William Shatner? Or was it a relative of Shatner's? A relative of Nemoy's? What am I thinking of...?

Haha, well I've been to 3 different JB's in the last few weeks and they all had multiple copies on shelf so I don't think they'll be disappearing too quickly. I do have a gift voucher to use there too but I'm thinking I might save that to put towards Injustice 2 when that comes out :p

Dam, I'm conflicted. I can order this set right now. But I heard somewhere that Powerhouse Films Indicator Series might release a version of The Blob (1988). Their Ghost of Mars, John Carpenter Vampires, etc... are pretty dam awesome. But this movie has been released by three companies already. Seems doubtful PH would want to release it.

I think it is. I've seen it said on some other forum. But I'd figure someone here has it and could confirm. Like I said it's still available to buy. They have it at jbhifi.com and they take Paypal which is a plus.

My finger its literally on the trigger, as soon as we get a confirmation.
