I've been trying to find this for rent for ages now, but still no luck. I've noticed there is an Anchor Bay double feature DVD out, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it before I gave it a go.

So is it Halloween calibur, or just another forgettable slasher?

I guess this was an okay movie, had some wicked music and some interesting deaths. Director Uli Lommel does borrow heavy from Halloween but kindly throws in a few ghost/supernatural scenes which sets THE BOOGEYMAN apart from the usual slasher fare.
I've seen this film years ago on video and kind of missed to buy it on DVD.
Maybe Anchor Bay will revisit this film someday and give it a special edition treatment. Would be cool.
Until then I'd say THE BOOGEYMAN is still recommended.

Hellbilly i agree the music in The Boogeyman is AWESOME!

As for the movie i like it.I Love the Beginning was real creepy. The end was good to.But the best thing about this movie is the beautiful synthesizer music score.:)

I bought the AB Boogeyman/Devonsville Terror dvd for 15.00 at suncoast. Was worth it to me just for the Boogeyman. The print is great with a nice sharp picture ,deep blacks good color.Didnt notice any film grain either.Verry happy with it.:D

THE BOOGEYMAN is a very nice transfer for an early Anchor Bay disc. The movie itself isn't bad either. THE DEVONSVILLE TERROR however, is not nearly as good and the transfer looks worse.

I got a screener of this disc this summer actually and reviewed it, but the review still hasn't been posted yet.

Thanks for the heads up guys, I am definitely going to try and pick this one up! I really love those 70's/80's synthesizer scores, so it should be a real treat!

How come it hasn't been posted yet Jeremy? It would be great to see what the print looks like, and to read a good review on it. Will it be posted soon?
