I'm on the fence with this one. It's a different premise for a main stream horror film but I'm still skeptical.

This is all my brother can talk about. This is going to be shown on Chiller next month. I think it looks fun. Haven't had a possessed killer doll movie in awhile. Nice to see Cohan in something other than the Walking Dead, but sure hope she(and others) don't become typecast for only horror roles due to their popularity on the Walking Dead.

    Opens Friday.

Can't decide yet if I'm going to catch it on the big screen or wait for video. I like the premise, but the trailer looks a bit safe and teen-friendly. Will be curious for the reviews to start popping up.

I was somewhat interested until I found that it's directed by one of the clowns who did Stay Alive and The Devil Inside. Pass.

Oh noooo. I wish I didn't know that. I hated The Devil Inside. Really stupid film. Stay Alive I kinda liked. Thought not great, it wasn't too bad. Because I like Lauren Cohan and because it's in a creepy British manor, I will try it anyway. BTW, in an earlier quote, I mentioned that this played on Chiller. I was incorrect about that. I guess their was another film called "The Boy" that played on that channel and it was around the same time that I first saw this trailer. For some reason, I confused both films.

Saw this last night and loved it. The film is kind of slow at first, but has enough weirdness about to keep you interested. All I can say is I was very surprised how the film turned out and enjoyed the plot twists. Not a 10 by any stretch, but a solid 8 in my book. Acting is fairly good and the house is creepy as hell.

I'd watch anything with Lauren Cohan in it other than the Walking Dead. She is incredibly sexy.

Saw it the other day. Pretty generic stuff. Didn't do much for me. Seen worse but there isn't much to get excited about here.

Caught it this afternoon, and yeah, pretty much my sentiments. Very bland and by the numbers, stealing bits and pieces and even main plot twists from films like
Housebound (minus the comedy of course) and even faintly Black Christmas.
Daniel Pearl's (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) cinematography is about the only positive the film has to offer...

I went to see it tonight, kind of begrudgingly, but ended up very pleasantly surprised. It's predictable as all get out, including the big twist, but I didn't mind. I thought Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans had great chemistry together. It never felt like the PG-13 rating held the movie back, instead it's a story that's suited for the rating. Those who need their constant jump scares ala the Insidious movies are sure to be disappointed, this is more along the lines of a Tales From The Darkside or Twilight Zone episode. I appreciated the more old-fashioned approach to the horror genre.

As far as PG-13 horror goes, I would say I liked it much more than Krampus.

and yes, the twist was lifted out of Housebound and The Pact, but to be fair they both lifted it out of Bad Ronald.

I agree - Cohan and Evans were very good together. Glad to hear that you presently surprised. I admit the film ended up being something I certainly didn't expect. The twist did surprise me and I always love when a film can do that. Loved the house too. Creepy as hell.

Watched this last week and thought the twist let it down and brought it into the generic modern day horror realm. The idea of a doll being alive, possessed or whatever is creepy to me. I was hoping for some Child's Play moment where we see some animation from the doll but the direction they went with felt kind of lazy. There was too many fake jump scares as well. Ok for a one time watch but nothing worth buying as it's pretty forgettable.

Not to mention the twist ripped off another better horror film by the name of "Housebound"

To be fair, Housebound ripped off The Pact, and they both ripped off Bad Ronald. So Housebound is just as guilty as The Boy.
