    Bloody-Disgusting:

MGM Home Entertainment has announced a few new DVD titles for September 11, the first being the highly demanded director’s cut of Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond, which has it's premiere last year on Monsters HD. The DVD will include a Gordon commentary with other extras to be announced. Coming to DVD the same day is the uncut version of the '81 slasher film The Burning, which starred Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens. That movie will be presented in a remastered hi-def widescreen transfer with all of Tom Savini’s gory FX intact, accompanied by commentary by director Tony Maylam and a featurette including a Savini interview and behind-the-scenes footage of his gory handiwork, according to Fangoria. Lastly, the new Return of the Living Dead DVD will include a cast/zombie commentary and more.

The Burning and From Beyond are much anticipated releases.

However, if the previous rumors about the tinkering around with Return of the Living Dead are true for the future DVD...not anticipated!

About damn time. If Sony hadn't jumped in and shat all over MGM we probably would have had all these last year as we've heard of all three of these being worked on for years.

Hopefully this is a sign that the Midnite Movies are back on schedule as well.

This is great news to me! Now I don't have to keep considering purchasing one of those bootleg Burning DVD's.

Does this mean the new release drought is officially over?

I hope we see a return of the Midnite Movie series on that date, or sometime soon. I keep hearing rumors that the line is suppose to return this year.

It seems weird that this day has finally come. So much build up in so many threads over the last 8 years at HorrorDVDs, and finally now it is happening. So Michael Felsher was talking about THE BURNING when he mentioned Savini's unreleased film. I'm glad it isn't bare bones, and we'll finally get some insider light on the slasher landmark. No Weintstein involvement though, I imagine. :)

A great announcement, but really, now that it's here, I can't help but find it a bit anticlimactic.

The Burning is finally here, not with a bang, but with a whimper.
