If this ever gets a region 1 release, hopefully it'll be the uncut version.Until then,I'll have to be happy with my VHS copy :)

I just scored a copy of the Vipco release through a trade and WOW! What a mother of a MOVIE! This film easily cracks its way into my favorite slashers, and also it is at a summer camp so it is an automatic favorite of mine. The vipco disc is in full screen, and really not that bad of quality considering its single layered, and from a crappy company. It is also uncut.

IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE ABOUT THIS MOVIE, GET OFF IT AND BUY IT ALREADY!

It's suppose to be sometime in 2005 is all I've heard. Nothing more specific though.

I'm just glad that I'll be finally getting to see this one. I've heard bits of the Wakeman soundtrack online and it sounded incredible... something like a cross between Friday the 13th and Goblin....

Recently bought MGM's DVD of Mr Sardonicus
What a cool William Castle this movie was great acting.
Story bout a guy who accidently leaves a lottery ticket in his dead fathers coat after he was buried in it. Then the ticket turns out to be the winner.
So off we go to the graveyard.
I don't want to give anything away here.
The film was done in 59' i believe,so it is in Black & White.
But i saw it as a kid , and this film has always stuck with me.
I'm glad it finally was released on DVD.
    Kudo's MGM.

The best slasher is The Prowler; The Burning may be second best but let's not forget about Silent Night Deadly Night; the most original slasher of all time.

Yeah, I have The Burning on a bootleg DVD uncut also. Pretty good slasher flick. Not my fav, and I think it's overrated, but still one of the better slashers to come out of the early 80's most definitely. And the score by Rick Wakeman? Absolutely fantastic. It's such a haunting and chilling score, IMO.

    indeed the burning rules

undefinedI bought the burning this week and saw it for the first time and i must say as a horrorfan that it is wunderful to find another movie that surprises me and the burning did surprise me. It was much better than Friday the 13th ( the rafting scene one of the best scene's ever!! I bought a copy of vipco's and was wandering if it was really totaly uncut? Anyway the movie made my Top Ten to!!

I'm debating buying the Rapture 2 disc set. At £34.99, it's looking a very expensive proposition, especially as all the content could be squeezed onto 1 disc and the quality's not brilliant.

But it's a loooong time since I viewed this movie and, as far as stalk and slash films go, this is a stonker!

    Decisions, decisions.

Don't forget about 1980's CHRISTMAS EVIL. The backstory is a little different, but the theme of a killer dressed up as Santa Clause, going around killing the "naughty" on Christmas is exactly the same.

I just watched Christmas Evil and I thought it was a decent movie if they could have cut about 20 minutes out of it. It's a little boring at times. Still, I liked the character Harry. I was cheering him on as he went on his rampage. The ending was a little weird.

Haven't had a chance to view it yet, but it's one of my "drive-in" favourites, along with X-tro.

The maniac in "Christmas Evil" is Fiona Apple's father.

Indeed he is. His name is Brandon Maggert. If I was her, I wouldn't use my last name either. I wonder whatever happened to him. He was the real highlight of the movie that and that cheesy reporter who reminded me of a cross between Tony Orlando and Geraldo.

I hear from him every once in a while. He lives in Los Angeles. If I ever wind up writing a book on slasher films, you can be sure he'll be interviewed!
