The director, no shit, billed himself as "Travis Z".
Shot-for-shot only no Cerina Vincent and no Winston.
"Do you see this? Do you see this shit?!? None of it's good!"
Only barely into 2016 and already remaking stuff from this century? Pointless is a good description, although I'm sure it will be better than some shit out since the original.
Martyrs too, which was just release today. 2016 is looking pretty bleak for horror.
Very excited for Southbound on Tuesday though!
That was originally a foreign language film though, and not really all that unusual that it got a "USA" remake. It happens quite often, and not just with horror genre imports.
I get foreign films being remade for US audience who either can't, or doesn't want to read subs, but remaking an American flick within a few years like this is stupid. Plus it looks like the Psycho shot-for-shot style, which is even more pointless!
All that said, I'm sure it will be better than The Gallows which I watched yesterday, thankfully from the library. Was close to blind buying that piece of shit and now happy it never got cheap enough to allow that!
i agree the gallows is one of the worst horror films ever made I am sure cabin fever remake and martyrs remake is much better the sad thing is the gallows trailers are pretty awesome
Yeah, the trailer and cover had me wanting to blind The Gallows, but I refused to spend more than $15 on a blind, so the prices saved me. Now if I see it for a buck, I'll still pass!
In a bind on this remake. I want to and like to support r-rated horror in theaters, but not sure if I want to pay for this one. Hopefully there will be some movie-cash with blu I was gonna pick up anyway. Then I support it and maybe see something else I really want to if the times line up.
Unless you live in NY or LA, you probably won't have a chance to support this in theaters. VOD next Friday.
I'm not crazy about the original or the sequel. This seems like a pointless remake. I'll check it out when it's a free movie on Encore or something.
here is a clip of the film it looks almost identical word for word like the original http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3379284/cabin-fever-infection-spreads-in-this-exclusive-clip/
well some reviews are in and everyone is saying it is either 3/10 4/10 is highest I have seen also I guess it basically is line for line screenplay from original
The remake is available on the torrent sites.
Don't pay for this lazy excuse of a remake, steal it instead! They don't deserve better.
I really hope they loose a lot of money on this one.
If you're that opposed to it, why even bother stealing it? Just ignore its existence.
I plan on checking out eventually, just out of curiosity. IFC Midnight usually hits NetFlix same day as disc, so I'll probably wait for that unless the opportunity presents itself sooner.
Well for one think he never said he was going to steal it, he just suggested curious folk do that instead of putting down cash.
Me on the other hand won't even do that.
Yeah this doesn't look good. If I watch it I'll be downloading it.
Well it's nicely shot, but that's it, I thought they were upping the gore for this? They did not, nothing new, all pretty much the same and if you watch it and hate it, watch the scene mid end credits, it's fucking stupid, and may make you hate it just that little bit more!
If they had given it a new story, and threw in gallons of blood and melting bodies, I might have given it a shot.
I remember being a bit disappointed in the original as well, when it came to the gore.
I was hoping for some epic Cronenberg body horror madness, with body parts dropping and deforming everywhere
Now that would have been fun, nothing like that I'm afraid, the animal at the beginning was fun, that's really it, ow one character appears to have been completely destroyed only to appear fully intact by the end, if that floats your boat.
Would love to know the actual calculation that provides such a precise percentage!
