    New giallo spoof via Astron-6:

"A once-prolific film editor finds himself the prime suspect in a series of murders haunting a seedy 1970s film studio in this absurdist throwback to the Italian Giallo."

Earns a "B" grade at the AV Club.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Blu-ray is out now--don't forget to use the Amazon link on this site!

Loved Manborg and the Astron-6 collection as well. "See you laser!"<---:D

Haven't seen Father's Day but sounds like you recommend it. Will check it out, too.

This was awesome--both as a spoof/homage and then as a giallo in its own right. Fun kills, performances, gore; plenty of nudity, great lighting, and bad dubbing. I hope more giallo fans eventually give it a shot.

I had a good time with this one, it delivers what it sets out to. I felt it got a bit far fetched by the end though.

Watched it last night. Started out pretty fun, but the schtick started to wear thin around the 30 minute mark. By the 1 hour mark, it stopped making sense entirely. I think it was supposed to be this meta-thing where the editor is splicing in all these scenes from famous giallo movies (re-enacted by the actors in the film), but as someone who doesn't watch or especially care for giallos, the only one I picked up on was Hitch Hike. I kind of wish they had simply followed through with the premise they had set up.

I'd say it's fun in small doses, but as a whole, it definitely isn't accessible to people who aren't hardcore fans of giallos.

By the way, Paz De La Huerta is an atrocious actress. She was perfect for this part.

I didn't realize Udo Kier was in this. How much screen time does he get?

Not much. Maybe 2 scenes? About the same as that Human Centipede guy.

This movie was an absolute hoot. But yeah, if you're not a giallo fan, you'll miss most of the references. The script could have been tightened up quite a bit, as they'll sacrifice what is intended to resemble a plot if they can get in one more giallo in-joke. But overall I think it's a great parody of the genre, respectful, but always aware of its trappings (bad dubbing, nonsensical plots, over-the-top gore, misogyny, excessive nudity, red herrings, etc).

It was a Netflix DVD rental, but I'm considering just buying the Blu-ray.

Finally got around to watching this. It was OK, but I think it ran out of steam pretty fast. There were some memorable scenes, and the soundtrack is ace, but otherwise, meh.
