What a disappointment. Again no extras. Why don't they at least carry over the 'Entity files' (27:28 min.) feature from the Anchor Bay DVD?

^^ Yeah, that's the same disc as the limited UK Steelbook that was released the other month, just in an unlimited standard case.

It has a higher bit-rate than the AB Blu-ray release and at least includes the trailer, but the audio is 16-bit instead of 24-bit. So a slightly better picture, but a slight downgrade on the audio side.

They probably couldn't license it, or maybe just didn't try.

What happened to the Blu-Ray of Mother's Day (1980)? Been looking all over and it seems to have disappeared from existence, can't find it anywhere. Was it Anchor Bay that released this?

Yes, Anchor Bay released it in the USA.

88 Films released a much superior Blu-ray in the UK. That release is region free, so I would seek that one out first.

They had The Entity on It Follows wiki as a similar movie. I added it to my list. I can't wait to check it out as It Follows is great. I'll post a small review on that probably next week. I saw it a while back.

I remember seeing The Entity in my early days of getting into horror. I was actually thinking about it the other day and how I'd like to revisit it. I remember it being solid but more of a drama which wasn't what I was particularly interested in at the time. The effects work always stood out to me as I couldn't fathom how they'd be able to create them. I plan on a re-watch soon as I feel like I may appreciate it even more now that I'm older.

I've always liked this movie, so I picked the Anchor Bay disc up on the cheap. I was astounded to discover the disc contains no menus of any kind, no top menu, no pop-up menu. It's hard to believe that Anchor Bay used to be the go-to horror distributor.

Yeah Anchor Bay are garbage now. I hate discs that have no menus or studio releases that have those super cheap looking ones that make you wonder if it's even a legit release.

Yeah, Anchor Bay have done that with a TON of their past Blu-ray releases. They may have been great in the past, but for years now they've been utter shit...after all the good people left.

Lionsgate should just suck them in and get rid of the studio name pronto.

I recently bought the Eureka release of The Entity. Disappointing that there were no special features, but unlike Anchor Bay - there is a menu & a trailer. I was satisfied with the audio & video presentation from Eureka. Having not seen the film in several years, it held up pretty well for me. Quite different than the real life story it was based upon, but still a very entertaining horror film.

Revisited this tonight and was thourghly bored. Way too long and uneventful. I kept waiting for it to get going but it never did. Was a real shame as I remembered it being better.
