Is there a DVD planned - does anyone know? The version on Comcast On Demand looks terrific but is presented 4:3.

Sony has the Region 1 rights to this movie. If you ask me, one of the worst companies when it comes to issuing catalog titles from the vaults. If and when Sony does release this, I'm expecting a bare bones release. A widescreen transfer at the very least should accompany this.

Definitely one of my favorite Hammer Horrors!

DD Video in R2 recently made an announcement of a bunch of Hammer titles - there's a thread here somewhere. The Gorgon was among them.

Thanks - it's cool to record from TV...NOT SO COOL when all those intrusive watermarks and animated logos pop up in the corner of the screen.
One pop up was an animated chainsaw and scared the hell out of me...it happened during a quiet moment in the film.
I hate watermarks - no matter what the intention.

Dammit!! I love The Gorgon but I have Time Warner, and my recording off of cable from the 80s really needs a serious upgrade.

P.S. - I haven't been able to find my tape since I posted.

FearNet is fucking awesome. I watched "The Mad Magician" also, which is one of my childhood favorites. Now THERE is one that seriously needs a dvd release!

Oh I LOVE The Mad Magician. I have that one on a tape somewhere as well. They really need to step on it with these releases!

Other movies last forever. GORGON and MAD MAGICIAN (where, oh where is the DVD????) went too fast.
    Great films...really great films.

I keep hearing rumors that Columbia may be doing an Icons of Horror: Hammer films collection someday. Gorgon is in their vault.
