On the official Facebook page. Pam has been saying since December that shipping will begin January 14th.
https://www.facebook.com/CharlesBPierce/posts/1815634931902099 It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for the actual packaging and shipping process to be completed, but there seems to be progress.
All I care about is that the people who restored the film hopefully knew what they were doing. I can tolerate small delays, after all, these people are not industry veterans, but if the lack of experience also extends into the restoration part, then this'll be a total clusterfuck.
Just wait till summer or October when it finally ships and the disc is defective. Katatonia will take like 50 screenshots claiming there is pixelated artifacts.
I actually did get a shipping notice late last night and tracking confirms that USPS is in possession as of this morning. Shipping from Claremont, NH.
There's a shot of the Blu-ray on Blu-ray.com that shows it's a 2 disc set. The second disc has a white ring around the center - isn't that a sign that it's a BD-R? The disc that contains the film may be a pressed disc but this second disc, which I have no idea what's on it, could be a BD-R. Until we get someone who has the disc in-hand to chime in, we won't know for sure.
Here's that image posted on the Legend of Boggy Creek Blu-ray Facebook page for reference: That disc on the right with the "white ring" is the DVD disc, not the Blu-ray (which is on the left). Until someone gets they copy in hand who knows for sure if pressed or burned but the outer edge of each disc looks silver/goldish in colour which would indicate pressed. As to the "white ring" it just looks like the DVD image was mistakenly designed to not print the whole area seeing as the Blu-ray disc is printed on the whole disc... but we'll find out soon once the first copy arrives in a collector's hands and if they complain.
Didn't Pamula Pierce Barcelou say herself it was a pressed disc couple months ago. Maybe it changed. "Just off the phone with my manufacturer, and it is a pressed disc, and it's exclusive to the website as it makes its way through other platforms. Amazon, Apple Pay, Google Play, and VUDU will stream VOD in 4K, etc. in about 60 days, and physical units are close behind. I've been approved as a seller, etc. just learning my way through that process, as well. I do thank you, again, for helping to get the word out! This has been a labor of love!"
I'm intrigued now! I'm curious to know if this is a DVDr or BDr. Hopefully someone can confirm this very soon.
