My guess is that these will be the same exact transfers that BCI/Deimos put out. I've been happy with those, so I won't be getting this (not a super fan enough to double dip). But if I was, I would be waiting for the reviews before deciding.

Awesome announcement, this comes as a complete surprise from Scream Factory! Who knows what the sales expectations for this collection are, but it would be incredible if there was a second volume down the road. Agreed on the cover art, Mr. Warden.

I still hold out hope for a box set of all the Hombre Lobo films (yeah, I know the rights are all over the place), but this will be an easy purchase for me.

Well... It doesn't say "Volume 1." But then again the impression given by Mirek Lipinski, who's writing the liner notes, is that there's going to be a second set:
    http://thelatarniaforums.yuku.com/reply/193784/2017-The-Year-of-Naschy#reply-193784

That could mean just a workflow of two or three of the five at a time. But speculation online seems to be on these next five on stand-by since they are also controlled by the same license owners Victory:
The Hunchback of the Morgue (1973)
    Devil's Possessed (1974)
A Dragonfly for Each Corpse (1974)
    Exorcismo (1975)
The Werewolf and the Yeti (1975)

Additionally, will we see other similar titles BCI released like Night of the Sorcerers and Loreley's Grasp? They were paired with these Naschy titles and usually these all come in a great big package.

I do have to wonder if Cliff is of sound and body after this announcement. By all accounts these releases ended up being BCI's downfall. Hope Cliff knows what he's doing. :D

Cliff confirmed on FB that the restorations from the BCI sets are being used, so Scream is not going all-out on this (first?) set. I am not complaining. I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw the initial announcement. Pre-ordered!

It would have been much easier to resist this collection had it included a couple of films not previously released by BCI, but at least if they ever release another set it'll be unlikely to have films I already own. Unless they do a true restoration of The Werewolf Shadow and Curse of the Devil that even BCI failed to do properly. The only one left of the Special Edition Spanish horror films still unaccounted for from BCI is The Dracula Saga.

Amazon already has it for $44.79 which is pretty damn good at 44% off. And Night Of The Sorcerers / The Loreley's Grasp is not quite as good of a deal at $19.01 but still 37% off.

Man, I've been trying not to spend any money, but stuff I've been holding out on keeping going on sale!

Edit: Damn it, I see now that price was from the 7th. It's back up to $46.78.

Exorcism is another from that BCI Spanish Horror Collection not yet announced for Blu-ray.

Yesterday's news of the Paul Naschy Collection Volume 2 was a bigger deal for me personally than pretty much all of the Shout/Scream announcements at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Happier yet that Werewolf & the Yeti will be in this set! I wonder when the Code Red Naschy films will get released?

I'm eagerly awaiting this set: three Naschy films I haven't seen--Werewolf and the Yeti, The Devil's Possessed, and A Dragonfly for Each Corpse! Plus, I really like both Exorcism and Hunchback. Great set all around.
