The Prowler is one of my top 5 favorite slashers. I love the killer's army getup, and he is very creepy. The Savini gore is just outstanding, and the exploding head is probably my favorite one in any film. I also love the film's score. I'm a big slasher fanatic, so this being in my top 5 says a lot. Sweet DVD too!

I have an "Unrated" copy but I have a feeling they changed the packaging to "R" for rental purposes or such. I wouldn't be too worried.

THE PROWLER is pure sleazy, gory, grimy early '80s slasher flick heaven... it personafies what the sub-genre was about from 1980 til about '83. Unpleasant and full of atmosphere and, oh yeah, BLOOD!

Could the killer have been any more menacing? I think his ruthlessness, personally, is only matched by Cropsy from THE BURNING.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on that one. I've always thought the same exact thing. Those two are definitely the most intense and ruthless killers.

I really liked this movie. The violence of the kills were great especially the girl getting the pitchfork in the shower, the girl in the pool and the killer getting their head literally blown apart. I definetly recomend this movie

Don't forget the "Unrated" one as well. That's what it says on the back of mine. 3 versions out I guess...

I think they're all the same cut of the film however.
