Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the performance. Somewhere a parent must have the tape. It takes a situation like that to see just how "diverse" the community really is. If you want to get a mental picture, just think of every horrible stereotype you can think of and that was what the play turned out to be. I have no idea what the school was thinking when they chose that for the production.

That was an old joke, about the agent who said his breakthrough idea was "Let's do THE WIZ...white!" but this story of the whitebread high school production has left me speechless. Wow.

    "Buzz Bunny"...

Visit images.google.com and input the above string as the search phrase. Watch the results bearing that name, paying special attention to the "Buzz Bunny" series of very pink, very shiny and very plastic products. "Mom, I was searching for this new cartoon and I got this... is this a mushroom? It wooks scawy!"

Not that I particularly care. If I had any trace of "not even the remaking scum could be vile enough to..." in me, the announcement of "The Hitcher" and "Phantasm" remakraps got rid of that. Now I'm waiting for my one-year-old prediction of remakes of recent films to become reality. When is the remake of the Matrix series coming up? And when George Lucas is gone, will it be Paul W. S. Anderson who is going to remake "Star Wars"?

And once the scum runs out even of remakes of remakes of remakes, the even worse domain will await: the comic-book idiocy of crossovers! "But who would win if Batman fought Jason infected by the Thing on Halloween in the Matrix using the One ring?" Let's find out! And quickly, green light "Titanic versus Poseidon" before the former is remade.

Mr. Vess is this what you are talking about being pink, plastic and scary looking when you search images on google for Buzz Bunny?

"The new series will have the same classic wit and wisdom, but we have to do it more in line with what kids are talking about today," says Sander Schwartz, president of Warner Bros. Animation.

Christ.............that sounds like the Simpsons episode where Homer becomes the Poohcy character........Art imitating life..........??
