I don't know if I'll see this as I am a bit burnt out on the serial killer and torture thing. But, I have to admit that this looks like a pretty polished little film and not a quick cash grab on a known(?) title. The camera work looks great and more than a little Fincher-ish. Definitely looking forward to the reviews for this one. And, if it's going for more of a "Zodiac" approach, I am in.

just finished this, I really liked it! It's FUCKIN BRUTAL and quite bloodier than I had anticipated. It definitely acts as a sequel and less of a remake. the only thing that really felt "remake" about it were they recreated some of the kills from the original, and amped them up to 10. the trombone death in this one is nasty! the reviews were right about the ending, it was kinda ridiculous but i still liked it. I give it a 8/10

I'm pretty sure I heard that the EPIX channel is showing this and the original on Halloween night.

Just watched it and really enjoyed it, very well made, beautifully shot, nice and brutal a film that really should be having a wider release at this time of year and getting a major cinema release, it is criminal it's not, this and 'The houses that October built', both should be the big releases for October.

I like dit enough to buy it but I felt the tone was a bit inconsistent, some of that cop humour was a bit slapstick for the rest of the film.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it. Brutal, colorful, suspenseful, with some nice twists and surprises.

Houses was very good as well. Nothing's really coming to theaters this Halloween. These would've been 2 great movies to see on the big screen, and they probably would've done well, particularly Town since its from the makers of american horror story.

I liked that, even though it´s set in 2013, people mostly wore 70:s hair/cloth styles.
And also there was some use of those typical soft lenses that they used in the late 70:s/early 80:s, in some scenes.
So even though there was cellphones and internet usage, and some modern cars, it still kinda felt like a 70:s film at times :)
