Well, the Arquettes (David and Courtney Cox, that is) certainly learned from one of the best by doing the Scream films with Wes Craven.

And I'm always up for a high-concept slasher film :D The cast is great, also.

You lost me at "David Arquette".....I'm going to have to hear some fucking serious word-of-mouth to even consider renting this one.

what's the verdict on this flick??? Anyone see it. I am considering watching it tonight but with only 8 more nights of horror movie watching before halloween i'd hate to waste a perfect evening on a movie that is total ASS.

Amazon Editorial has this to say:

I don't know, sounds pretty cool. Little disappointed the soundtrack isn't more...60s/70s.

I saw it at the Montreal Fantasia Fest earlier this year. It is by no means at all a serious film and it is only mildly effective as a comedy. A little bit of nudity and some cheap looking gore. Paul Reubens was very good in his role. The characters were mostly annoying and I really did'nt care either way. At best I would recommend to see this once with a six pack of Heineken handy, other than that really not worth it.
The best part was the Q&A with Arquette after the screening, he was either high or drunk as hell and was entertaining in a train wreck sort of way.

    Ha!

After Anthropophagus' review, I'm taking this off my list. There are better slashers I need to see.

Not bad... I was expecting worse from Arquette. Never cared for his "acting". He reminds me of a weasel on crack. He shows some promise as a director. I had fun with this inventive slasher. I'm sooo tired of the usual formula in slashers. So, anything a little quirky in my slasher is ok with me. The main characters were supposed to be annoying. Have you ever met a hippie that wasn't? ;) This is a recommended rental for slasher fans.

    It Sucked Hard.

The best thing I can say about this movie is that it didn't send me into anaphylactic suck shock and kill me dead. It was touch and go there for awhile though, but I pulled through. Besides that, it sucked in every way possible.

Oh nooo, and I'm a closet David Arquette fan. :(

I may still put this on my Netflix queue...right at the bottom.

Well, next to the bottom, ahead of Kung Pow: Enter The Fist.

I just watched this and thought is was pretty good. Actually I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a little confused by all the negative thoughts here, but apparently I'm not alone either - there's quite few positive reviews throughout the web. Also, you have Jay from the Clerks fame which helps the comedy.

Being the "experienced" DeadHead and PhishHead I am including plenty of music festivals under my belt, I could totally appreciate this flick - although it's a pretty damn small festival here. This is totally an 80's slasher throwback with campy fun and decent gore. It's not going to win any awards, but I thought it sure was entertaining on multiple levels. There's really nothing music-wise that makes it a total hippie fest, just a few reggae tunes here and there.

Also, this DVD is apparently OOP. While there are a plethera of VERY cheap used DVD's, there are very few left that are Brand New Sealed. I grabbed one off Amazon for $7 which appears to be the only place that has them in this condition from resellers. This DVD deserves a spot in my collection :)
