http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0049P1ZZQ/ No date yet. I haven't seen this series but will certainly check out the forthcoming BD release as I love zombie flicks.
Looks like it will be released in March... http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Walking-Dead-Press-Release/14748 Anchor Bay has the rights. I guess there will be several different releases of this show over the course of the decade (Televised version, Unrated version, Special Edition, Ultimate Edition, etc).
 Yeah, I probably won't be in any rush to pick this up right away since I will have seen each of the episodes a couple of times already (we've got them on the DVR and my girlfriend has been playing them non-stop). So I can hold out for 5 years or so until the Ultimate Edition is released.....
Here's a review of the Blu-ray: http://www.thehdroom.com/news/The_Walking_Dead_Season_One_Blu-ray_Review/8509 Thrilled that Anchor Bay gave it lossless audio! Can't wait to get my copy!!
Just recieved my UK boxset of Season 1 to find it's been cut by 20 seconds, Pissed off big time. Apparently all European versions are cut. The cuts are 9 seconds to episode 2 where they chop the zombie up to cover themselves in it's blood and a further 11 seconds to episode 5 when the woman pick axes her dead husband to prevent him returning as a zombie.
I have to give props to Anchor Bay here. I purchased the season 1 set at Best Buy around the time it was released and being the procrastinator that I am I didn't get around to watching it until recently. I discovered that the 2nd disc in the set was an erroneously packed DVD. I couldn't find my receipt and figured BB would not exchange it for me so I decided to see if Anchor Bay would replace it. I sent an email to their general questions address and to my surprise I received a reply in 15 minutes telling me to send it in for a replacement. I was amazed considering how bad customer service is now days at many businesses.
That is remarkable. Even with the receipt I doubt Best Buy would help you. I can't tell you how frustrating it was to get someone at Image to replace my Twilight Zone-Season 1-Disc 4 despite the fact that there was a huge distribution problem on their end.
The same exact thing happened to me. I bought it at Best Buy and by the time I realized it, the receipt was nowhere to be found but when I bought it I used my rewards zone card, so they were able to look up my purchase in the computer and they exchanged it for me without a problem.
