Not that Echo Bridge is really doing much with their ever expansive library of good B-grade horror, it's still nice to see all these movies at least getting re-released and readily available. I'm all over CHILDREN OF THE CORN 2...that cover actually looks half decent, although I was a big fan of the original art. For those on the fence, III & IV are both very enjoyable - the third more for the wannabe hip nineties cheese and the effects by Screaming Mad George, while the forth is actually tense and well-acted with a stellar cult cast. I'd like to check out that HELLRAISER tripler, since I've only ever gotten up to the third film in the series.

How many discs does the Children of the Corn triple feature contain? Is it all crammed onto one disc, or two or three?

If it's similar to their Subspecies triple feature, it will be 1 disc, double sided.

i bet echo bridge releases children of the corn 5,6,7 triple feature dvd down the road as well as hellraiser 6,7,8 i hope anyway atleast for the COTC series

i am still curious of hellraiser III echo bridge release runtime of 98 minutes cause i believe it is 97 or 98 minutes on my unrated vhs and 93 min for R rated OOP DVD even though that contains some of the unrated material though

Are they reprints from the Disney/BVHE releases?

I also noticed that Lionsgate will re-release a lot of Miramax titles on DVD April 15th:

    Hero
    Extract
    Ella Enchanted
    Gangs of New York
    Gone Baby Gone
    Clerks
    Chasing Amy
    Amelie
    Chicago
    Adventureland
    Cheri
    Chocolat
    Bad Santa
    Brothers Grimm
    Finding Neverland

The thing, they'll re-release all the versions of Bad Santa, Chicago and Ella Enchanted. Only a few titles like GONY, the Kevin Smith titles, et al are also being released on Blu-ray at the same time.

I'm curious to see what version of Chasing Amy will be the DVD re-release; the Criterion or the Miramax Blu version (meaning having the Blu's transfer and extras)?

Also, if there are any GLEEks on the board, Mark Salling who plays Puck plays Naomi Watts' little brother in this. No mohawk, though.

I've noticed that Lionsgate will re-release the first three Scream movies on DVD, the same day the fourth one hits theaters. Maybe Lionsgate gave the first one an anamorphic transfer, that'd be nice.

Children of the Corn 2 is a full frame release, while it's nice to have it on DVD it's a shame they didn't put effort into the release at all.

I'll assume that II & III disc is the same that's also in the double feature DVD they've released.

Both films are shoved onto a single-layer at just 4.03gb in size. :eek2:

Children of the Corn II is full-frame and obviously taken from an older video source. Children of the Corn III is 16x9, probably sourced from the old DVD. Generic menus and no features at all.

Hopefully their Blu-ray double-feature releases will fare better, but it's certainly not promising...

Did anyone else order Children of the Corn II from amazon.ca and have it cancelled?

I'm still perplexed how Echo Bridge managed to get this library of films!?! and only to present them in this dubious quality (pointing to the Children of the Corn disc).

Yea, it's really poor the way they're handling this. As much as I want a HD copy of Bloodline, Echo's history is making me think twice.

Yeah, I almost wish Mill Creek would have gotten their hands on all of these titles. At least they've done pretty solid jobs (even if they are budget) on their recent DVD and Blu-ray releases.

The worst part is a lot of these films have die hard fans. Halloween and Hellraiser (though I couldn't care less for anything past Bloodline) especially. I would like to see those two at least get decent treatment yet they have been handed to a company which will do as little as they can, slap them on a disc and distribute them. I'd like to see at least some improved transfers, maybe even some special features.
Maybe someday fans will get the producers cuts for both Halloween 6 and Bloodline, or at the very least some updated transfers from these films.

Does anyone know if Echo Bridge's re-release of Hellraiser III is a reprint of the Paramount 2006 release?

It'll probably be. Except without extras.

I'm hearing reports from people who have it that it's a full frame release.
