Hmm, if it's a full frame release, I wonder if they used a video master from the extended version?
Picked up both COTC 2/3 and Hellraiser 3/4 discs at Wal-Mart and satisfied with the quality. Finally Bloodline is anamorphic!
I'll have to pick up the From Dusk Till Dawn disc if it's anamorphic.
I'm guessing these full frame transfers probably kill the chances of us getting a Children Of The Corn II or Hellraiser III blu-ray?
Are any of these combo packs already available in stores?
MisterTwister, was Hellraiser III's transfer the same one from Paramount or a new one?
Also, is the widescreen transfer for Bloodline new? Anyway, thanks for telling us Bloodline is anamorphic! I guess I can retire my old Dimension disc.
Honestly I never owned or have seen the Paramount disc. It does look better than my old Lionsgate disc, though.
No problem. Bloodline's transfer looks new but I'm not 100% sure.
If From Dusk Till Dawn (which btw has Full Tilt Boogie with it) is the same I'll pick it up.
Is Hellraiser III's transfer widescreen or full screen? Also, just so some people should know, Echo Bridge has the rights to The Thief and The Cobbler now. A new DVD will bre released this May, but will be the same full screen version:
It's Full Screen.
Screen caps below...
I was told it is full screen.
Could someone post the running time of Hellraiser 3? The paramount disc was the Canadian cut, which had more gore footage than the US R edit. Though having the extended cut on R1 dvd would be great.
Definitely not the extended cut.
It's a full frame, VHS transfer copy. I'm not shocked at all it's the cut version. Glad I bought the Paramount disc when it came out.
Yep but definitely the Canadian cut. It has more gore than my Old VHS of the film taped from HBO.
Is Hellraiser IV Bloodline presented in 5.1 sound like the Dimension release? Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, I just need to know is all.
Looks like no. My DVD says ENG Dolby D 2/0ch.
So I guess I'm tied between a release with anamorphic transfer and 2.0 sound and a release with a non-anamorphic transfer and 5.1 sound.
Target had a few of these out (DVD only). They were 4-movie packs, one with four of the Hellraiser sequels, one with From Dusk Till Dawn 1 - 3 plus Full Tilt Boogie, and one with Halloween 6 - 8 plus Mother's Boys. I believe they were $9.99 each. I hope they release Mother's Boys on blu-ray!
Over on the blu-ray.com forums someone got a hold of the blu-ray release of The Crow: City of Angels and posted pics. The back of the case lists the audio as 2.0 stereo! If Echo Bridge is handling all their blu-rays this way that is a fail way beyond epic proportions. Here's a link to the thread with the pics:
The 2.0 on Bloodline sounds just fine to me. For $5 I'm not going to bitch. Especially since the film looks pretty darn good and is anamorphic.
