I myself have never seen this film, but it's supposed to be the Czech answer to Mark Of The Devil and Witchfinder General :

in March this year I've been to a movie festival (called Offscreen) in Brussels, Belgium and they showed a lot of stuff, with a large part being Czech films (which I mostly attended) and I've learned that they have made some amazing work (The Fabulous Baron Munchausen, Krysar, Morgiana,...) so I reckon this one will be of some interest to those frequenting this forum.

I had never heard of this film before. After reading a little about it I've decided to buy. Thanks for the heads up hellraiser40.

Very cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to toss this in with some Indicator orders. I was aware of Baron Munchausen and Jules Vern getting a recent restoration from the same Archive, but no idea about Witchhammer.

Vampir Cuadecuc (1971) has a stand alone release now too? I wonder how that compares to Severin's transfer.
