Recently Ive been checking out alot of Joe D Amato films and I gotta say Im pretty happy from what Ive seen so far which Ive seen 2020 texas gladiators, Anthropophagus 1 and 2, Eman and the last cannibals, Eman in america, Endgame and Erotic nights of the living dead . I also recently just got the Astro DVD of Porno Holocaust and I gotta say that was a fun little flick its a shame the DVD only has German/Italian audio, hopfully one day we see a english dubbed version or a english subbed version. I also enjoy the fact that my fav euro horror actor George Eastman stars in most of the films, writes and co writes some of them and even co directs on a few. Can you guys recomend any other Joe D films others then the ones I listed?
    take care-

BUIO OMEGA kicks ass, definitely worth checking out. Real nice disc too. Out of the 2 EMANUELLE flicks and this, he's made three great movies.

Here's another reccomendation for Beyond the Darkness aka Buio Omega. Really cool movie with some excellent gore and a very unique story.

Without a doubt seek out Caligula 2 The Untold Story!

Also Emanuelle's Revenge which is a non-Gemser E film but it does star Eastman & is co-directed by Bruno Mattei. Not quite E in America or E & the Cannibals but good cheesy/sleazy fun. With bad(GREAT) 70's music.

Neither on of these films are on DVd. A butchered Caligula existes but whats the point:fire:

yeah see Buio Omega. Kick ass music, and some great scenes. Not as graphic as you've probably heard though.

Looks as though you've seen the majority of D'Amato's more popular films, I can only further suggest Ator the Fighting Eagle. If you like Conan, you ought to enjoy this.

Emperor Caligula The Untold Story is about as sleazy and depraved D'Amato gets - worth the watch as pointed out already!

  8. I guess it is just me, but this guy's films do nothing for me. EIA was garbage, has to be the most awful film in my collection. I was lucky enough to sell BEYOND THE DARKNESS, another piece of D'Amato Crapolla. But I will give the guy his due, his cinematography before becoming a director was very good.

I am interested in the D'amato documentary "Totally uncut". There is a lot of different information about it on the net. Is it true that there is actually only one documentary that is called "Totally uncut"? Some sources say that this documentary was simply split in half by Shriek Show and that the allegedly 2nd part (on the Antropophagus DVD) is just the rest of the original documentary found on the "Images in a convent" DVD.
Are these two parts of the documentary on the Shriek Show DVDs cut in any way?
Is the complete version of the documentary available on DVD at all?

    Thanks

I can't answer your question, but I have another.
After watching Witchcraft last week I also watched the D'Amato traler reel. There was a trailer for Death Smiles on the Murderer. Why was this never released by Shriek Show? The trailer was in much better condition than my Dutch DVD. Would love to see a better release for this one. Although my DVD looks fine for the time being:

Are the Dutch and German DVD (No English) the only legit DVDs? Is the Sinister Cinema DVD-r a copy of the Dutch DVD?

    I can't answer your question, either.:p
I could not find another release of the film. But there is a comparison between the Dutch und German DVDs :

According to RedRiverDigital the Witchcraft DVD by Shriek Show was cut and matted. The film will be released on their label fully uncut and in the correct aspect ratio for the first time soon. Here is the artwork:
