I think Tim said 3,000 copies were printed. I had the book but sold it. The limited range of colors in the photos was a bit off-putting to me. Don't go into it expecting eye-popping Bava colors and you won't be disappointed. The color limit is pretty noticeable if you're flipping through the pages but not so apparent if you're slowly reading. You're not getting a wide spectrum of colors, just the basics and I don't want that when it comes to Bava. I asked Tim about the color range and he said it was economics and the printing house. The more colors you need reproduced, the more it's going to cost, not just in ink but the amount of time and labor in the actual page printing. For example, if you use the same shade of yellow in all the pictures, regardless of if the photos were taken 20 years apart and in different countries, then printing those pages is easier/faster than having to stop, change the shade, print a few more, etc. He used a printer in Hong Kong or somewhere, so their process isn't going to be the same costly thing going on in the U.S. For me, the book was great information. I happen to love Bava's use of colors and wanted to see that more accurately reproduced in the photos. That's just my preference.

I was looking into finally picking this up a couple of months ago, but then forgot about it. Too late now with the prices going through the roof now that it's OOP!

Asking prices are already under $500 on amazon. Give it a little time and they'll come down more, I bet.

you're probably right. i'd bet if you wait a bit you'll be able to get one for around the cost it was when it was available. i paid about $375 CAD after shipping and conversion, and i think it was worth it.
