I really liked this one. Awesome 80s proto- synth score, a cute but bland Final Girl who is given little to do but whine and pout, plenty of low-rent gore (buckets of karo hurled at the screen-propeller kill, I'm talkin' to ya), and lots of slutty-sluts with bare boobs begging to meet the killer's blade. Be glad to see this one look like it wasn't filmed through a closed window with the lights off.

I got it the other day. Nice transfer, and the three interviews are fun... especially the Jennifer Runyon one!

Yeah, it's far superior to the old DVD-R VHS rip I had. The darker scenes are still dark, but you can see far more. Here's some random 1920x1080 screenshots (Lossy Jpeg) I grabbed off the Blu-ray:

It is quite grainy, but looks better in motion.

Is this as dark as Humongous, I saw this many times in the 80s, but don't remember how dark it was.

Man, this movie is baaaad (and not in a good way).

There isn't a trace of talent evident anywhere: the acting, the cinematography, the screenwriting, directing - all sucked. I'm still somehow glad it's out on Blu-ray . Maybe because it's "out of the way" so Kino can focus on the good stuff :D

Disagree - thought it had a fun and sometimes creepy feel to it. Not the best Santa killer movie, but has that 80's cheese and charm that keeps you entertained. Plus, I love me some Jennifer Runyon.

$15.99 Deal Grabber at DeepDiscount right now, for those who haven't already bought it.

DVD is $12.49 for those still stuck in standard def.

Watched this earlier and really enjoyed it. Been watching a lot of slashers this October and this is definitely one of the better ones, with The Final Terror and The Forest being the absolute worst.

It apparently had a January 30th, 1980 theatrical release date, if IMDB is to be believed.

That's got to be depressing to the makers. That's a hard sub genre to fail at being the best.

Well, I'm gonna choose SNDN over it, and maybe even Christmas Evil. It's still pretty good though imo. Nothing to be ashamed of :)
