I know lists are done to death, but since this is a bit of a slow period for the horror community I thought why not. And surprisingly I couldn't find anything like this in the search thread so I thought it would be fun. I'm sure some lists will include a lot of the same choices, but I'm also sure that some will include some movies that will encourage others to check them out. Also, I'm curious to see what movies will make the most lists. I am a little ashamed to admit it, but my knowledge of horror films from the 60's is not the best. There are still many classics I need to see from this era but I thought I would throw this up anyways to see what everyone else favourties were so I could start tracking down the horror classics, all of the Hammer films for one. Anyways, lets see what you got. Top 10 Horror Movies of the 60's 10. The Girl Who Knew Too Much (1963) 9. Tales of Terror (1962) 8. Black Sunday (1960) 7. Witchfinder General (1968) 6. Black Sabbath (1963) 5. Psycho (1960) 4. Blood and Black Lace (1964) 3. The Haunting (1963) 2. Rosemary’s Baby (1968) and my favourite movie from the 60's is... 1. Night of the Living Dead (1968) Again, I haven't seen the most horror movies from this decade, which made putting this list together a lot easier. That being said, it doesn't mean Night of the Living Dead doesn't deserve its spot at the top any less. Night of the Living Dead was the best of its time and still holds up just as well now even if it lacks a lot of the things that we expect from horror these days such as excessive gore. It is a horror story that is just as much about the characters and the society around them then the zombies trying to break in from outside. One of the best zombie flicks of all time and a movie where the black and white really helps set the mood.
