Very difficult to just choose only five.
I think House With The Windows That Laugh,Deep Red,Tenebrae,Bird With The Crystal Plumage and What Have They Done To Solange should be in my list......today that is...Ask me tomorrow and this list will be different I'm sure.

I personally thought that Case Of The Scorpion's Tail was kind of crap. I thought the theme was amazing, but that was about it. The finale so cheessy and really idiotic. I was hoping something much more. Being it my first Sergio Martino film, I expected alot and was really disappointed.

    Spoiler:

Who in the right mind sets the finale in a goddamn beach-rocky-island. So bloody annoying.

    :(
Well, it's one of my personal faves... The plot twists in this one genuinely took me by surprise; some of the most effective twists in a giallo in my opinion.

    [spoilers] (light ones)

I love Ida Galli (Whip and the Body, Seven Notes in Black) as the female lead in the first part of the movie. Anita Strinberg is fun and always looks so great... and George Hilton is cool as usual... I don't have any problem with the finale, Martino just tried something different, I think it works...
Add to that loads of style, weird camera angles, one of my fave giallo music score by Bruno Nicolai, a really menacing, brutal killer (pretty intense murder scenes).
In my opinion, it's a quintessential giallo, it has that feverish 70's vibe I love about the genre... I always have tons of fun watching it...

Personally I think Eyeball is much much more idiotic than Case of the Scorpion's Tail and this one made your Top 5! :eek2:

Case of the Scorpion's Tail plot actually makes some sort of sense whereas Eyeball is just plain dumb (although I still love it of course...).
I'd also take Case of the Scorpion's Tail over the very flat Sleepless anyday too... But that's just a matter of taste I guess...

    Point Well Taken.

The reason why I take a huge love to Eyeball, is that the fact that I expected very little. My expectatioins were extremely low, so when I saw I had alot of fun.

Also, do any of you guys have the main theme from Case Of The Scopion's Tail? I really love that piece of music.

Regarding the movie... It's probably the most influencial giallo ever, one of the earliest ones but still one of the best, only Argento has been able to surpass it in my opinion...
The german dvd is the best way to watch the movie for the moment, it's widescreen and it looks quite good... Audio is italian (& german) with optional english subtitles...

I heard that torso is pretty tame on the violent aspect. With the killings taking place with strangling. Is it still good to watch? What are the great aspects in the film for it to be a great Film?
