On the one hand I agree with you, but on the other hand the way you phrase that question reminds me about how that has ALWAYS been done with B movies. Growing up from the early 70s to the early 90s I couldn't even tell you the number of times that I (and others) have been tricked into seeing the same movie more than once. Putting a new cover on an old movie really isn't all that different than taking an early 70s film like Tower of Evil and re releasing it 10 years later as Beyond the Fog.

Yeah, I grabbed a copy from Full Moon. One of my favorite childhood horror films that still holds up extremely well today. Can't wait to check out the new transfer but I'm not actually expecting too much. They shot this film like 70's Brian DePalma - with vaseline on the lens. At least the nighttime scenes, the bulk of the film, looks close to normal.

So if it's out why does amazon keep delaying my shipment?

Full Moon always pulls this crap. It goes up for pre-order everywhere months in advance, and then suddenly they have it and sell it themselves...but it gets delayed everywhere else. Great free advertising.

I'll wait for the 88 Films release... it'll be superior anyway.

Has anyone bought stuff from Full Moon Direct and can tell me if they send out shipping notifications? I ordered a copy of Tourist Trap as soon as I found out (late last week) and chose expedited shipping but haven't heard a peep yet. They supposedly had copies in stock but, this is Full Moon we're talking about.

They do elDomenechHDG but good luck with that. I placed two orders with them during their Valentines sale and my stuff has been sitting "In Process" now for almost 3 weeks. The last time I ordered through them this happened and I swore I would never order from them again, but I thought maybe this time I might luck out...what a mistake.

Thanks. That doesn't bode well. So they can sit on my order for weeks and not bother posting it. Probably the last time I order as well.

I just watched the blu...plenty of print damage throughout. The 2:18 mark shows a damaged reel, I think. I'm happy to finally have it on blu though.

So at the end, the 88 Films release of this one will have almost the same features found in the original DVD release? The only good thing there might be the new remixed audio plus a better transfer, no?

Has it been confirmed that the transfers on the 88films and fullmoon release are different?

I have the fullmoon release and for about the first 20 minutes or so the image is jumpy. So if 88films has a better transfer w/o this issue than I'll double dip.

Don´t know it they´ll be different but many people have pointed that 88Films past Full Moon releases have better encoding than their USA counterparts.

To my eyes 88 Films Tourist Trap Blu-Ray looks and sounds great.
