Washington Post has a nice write up: https://www.washingtonpost.com/ente...01c406-02a3-11e7-b9fa-ed727b644a0b_story.html

Variety also has a pretty good one: http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/robert-osborne-dead-dies-tcm-host-1202002748/

Growing up there weren't a lot of people I knew who liked classic horror. Most horror fans enjoy contemporary horror films. But on TCM not only did they show the classics, but they had a host who not only look respectable in a suit, he would describe Dracula as great, Frankenstein as marvelous and Bride of Frankenstein as stunning! Now I knew he liked the Gone With the Winds more, but that's all the more reason why I appreciated that he called these creaky old horror films classics too.

Before the world wide web Robert was one of the best ways to learn anything about any of these films. Undoubtedly the first things I ever learned about Karloff or Lugosi, James Whale, Jack Pierce or Ray Harryhausen was from Robert Osborne's lips. Whenever I caught him while channel surfing through I stayed to watch, even if it wasn't a movie I was especially interested in, because he was always so magnanimous you didn't want to miss a word. I've long come to associate him so much with these classics that I've come to miss his warm words introducing a disc I might pop in. And his absents is especially missed when you see THE END roll by and the screen goes black. But still he does not appear.

Good night sweet prince: And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!
