Troma's War and Sgt. Kabukiman should've been higher on Troma's priority list than Nuke 'Em High 2.
Never seen Troma's War and Cannibal but I remember being a little disappointed by Kabukiman. I did think the ending was pretty crazy though.
I agree with this. I'm surprised the Toxie sequels came out before other titles. Those sequels are pretty terrible.
Well, it is Toxic Avenger and in it's 30th anniversary!
Luckily though, Kabukiman is set for release very soon.
The sequels are pretty bad though, especially the 4th.
You completely lost me ZD.
Toxie 2 & 3 I can understand but Citizen Toxie is extremely popular within Troma's fanbase.
So again I'm lost with your comment.
Citizen Toxie is great...the real sequel.
It's terrible. It's overly long and they just tried to do too much with the budget they had. I don't see how Iost you Mister Twister, I'm sure you can see why some may not like this one.
I honestly don't. Not with Troma fans at least.
It took me many years before I saw Citizen Toxie, as I was pretty disappointed by part 2 and 3, and thought it would be just as mediocre, so I was pretty surprised to find out it was more in the same style of the original. Sure, it´s still not as great as the original, but I like it
Though when it comes to bad sequels, Nuke em High part 2 and 3, is way worse than Toxie 2 and 3. The toxic sequels at least have SOME fun scenes, but the Nuke sequels was so bad, that I felt like blowing my brains out afterwards
Gotta agree. I enjoy Toxie 2 & 3 (especially 2) but I just can't get into those two Nuke 'Em High sequels.
HD transfer on 2 looks great but it's not enough for me to rebuy it.
That's just like saying a Marvel or DC fan has to like all the comics. People have diffent tastes. Toxie 4 feels below budget and over bloated to me. It has some decent ideas and scenes here and there but I can't get past how cheap and tacky it looks compared to the other films. It doesn't need to be an hour and forty minutes long. I felt like there's a whole lot of fluf they could have not included and used that money towards other things in the film.
Sucks that Toxie 3 is cut. Maybe there's a chance that the upcoming Troma Blu will be uncut? If not, I'll just stick with the DVD from the Tox Box.
Anyone have the Citizen Toxie Blu? How is the PQ?
Kabukiman Blu set for this Summer!:
Pretty good actually. And its finally in widescreen (the screener VHS tapes were in WS but everything else has been full frame)
I have the 88 Films Blu-ray, which looks really good.
Troma's War on Blu-ray this June (featuring a new interview with Michael Herz!!)!!:
Also Rick Gianasi is doing a new interview for the Kabukiman Blu-ray and he'll be answering your questions!!!:
Cool, thanks! Gonna order pretty soon.
Anyone here order directly from 88? Do they ship their Blu's in a box or bubble mailers?
Awesome! Now I need Terror Firmer and Combat Shock and I'm all set.
I'll wait for reviews before I buy any Troma blu-ray from now on.
No kidding. Troma needs a disclaimer on their Blu-ray releases like:
"May or may not be remastered, and we have no problem shoving a VHS transfer on a Blu-ray."
