    From DVD Newsflash on Facebook!:

"Twilight Time has confirmed these re-releases for 2015:

UPDATE: All re-issues coming next year will be improved in transfer and/or extras. Yes, it appears FRIGHT NIGHT will be getting some extras.

    1). FRIGHT NIGHT (1985)
    2). CHRISTINE (1983)
3). JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (1959) (brand new 4k restoration)."

Well, isn´t this a nice "Fuck You" to the fans, re-releasing the movies with a better transfer + extras just two years later ;)

Might be worth waiting for the re-release of The Blob in 2016 then :D

Wonder if the coming EU releases of Christine and Fright Night uses these improved transfers?
The old TT releases had the exact same transfers as the latest HDTV versions.

Yeah, and after they charged such a premium price the first time around.

What does "EU" stand for? I'd very interested in purchasing FRIGHT NIGHT and CHRISTINE from a different company.

I presume EU means European as these titles had been planned for release in Scandanavia I believe (I may be wrong though so don't quote me on that). Can't believe TT have the nerve to re-release these so called limited edition titles after fans had to pay so much for the original pressings. I wonder if they will still be limited and highly priced?

Yes, EU means Europe (European Union).
They are released by Sony themselves, so they might be region-free :)

Glad I sold my copies of Fright Night and Christine just two days ago, since they will be almost worthless now, when this news are spreading around the world :D

The contract is up and they're renewing, what's the problem? I'm not a fan of the Twilight Time model but I suck it up and grab what I like whenever I can. It looks like they're releasing a better version - I hope they do because otherwise this reissue will only benefit those who missed out. Would be great if they included the cast reunion. Still won't get rid of my current copy, though.

    Wouldn't Christine require another year?

I'm guessing they'll be less limited like this October's The Blob release. Can't say I mind too much considering I missed out on Fright Night and Journey.

As for Christine, I guess they must have renegotiated that with Sony? It obviously won't be three years come 2015. I'm curious what new stuff they have planned for that.

Will the reissues likely be in limited quantities this time?

Never mind didn't see the question answered right above my post. So what about Fright Night 2? That needs a proper release.

Not to defend them, but while it's pretty bad what they are doing it's nowhere as bad as drug corps charging outrageous prices for cancer drugs. At least TT is not profiting off other people's misfortunes and give those who miss out before another chance to own the releases who couldn't afford to pay out the ass to own a copy.

Well, watching these sell for asinine prices knowing I got mine for retail was nice while it lasted, but I'm glad that more people will get a chance to own these for a relatively sane price. Also, I think it is kind of naive to think they wouldn't do this; their deal only allowed for 3000 copies but there is no reason to think they wouldn't pursue another deal for titles that sold out quick and appear to be in demand.

This is rather shitty. How about some kind of store discount for future releases for those who ponied up for the $30 LEs?! Say, $5 per previous title bought could go towards the purchase of the next TT's LE?!!

I may at times be slow, but from now on this is gonna be my attitude for their future releases.
