I put in a pre-order for Mysterious Island, came in at total of $39.30.

Not sure I'll spend that on Fright Night.

Being an old Laserdisc collector, usually spending between $60-$120 for a Collectors Edition from Elite Entertainment or Criterion back in the 90:s, $30-$40 for a VERY limited Blu-Ray edition of a movie that may never come out on the format otherwise, is dirt cheap.

Imagine the prices on ebay when it goes OOP ;)

Instead of buying two movies that can easily be found anywhere at anytime, why not spend that amount of money on one RARE movie that month.

Taking into account people's thirst (no pun intended) for a hi-def update of the original and the disappointment of a lackluster remake (something that always enhances the popularity of the originals), I think there's a good chance that Twilight Time's Blu will quickly sell out, especially considering that there will only be 3000 copies available worldwide. For those of you that enjoyed the remake, Best Buy will have tons of copies out when it streets. If you're a true fan of the original, this is the only way to go, unfortunately.

Yeah, Mysterious Island--Twilight Time's first Sony BD release--went up for preorder yesterday and it's coming out Nov. 8. So, Fright Night will probably be available to preorder sometime during the first two weeks of November. It's kinda bizarre that MI is going for $34.95, since I thought FN was going to be $29.95. Anyway, the full specs have been posted for MI, and it looks like a solid release, so far. Makes me even more excited for Fright Night!! :D

It will apparently be up for pre-order at Screen Archives on 11/14.

Screencaps for Mysterious Island here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=21204845#post21204845

Looks good although I hoped it could be ever so slightly better. But that could be said of any transfer really. For those who ordered be careful as there's a fridge magnet that comes with this that's apparently easy to over look in the packaging.

I'm probably going to order Fright Night tomorrow after all. The isolated scores is always a welcome feature and I really wish more studios did them. I hang onto my DVD of The Thing for that reason alone.

Its up for pre-order...I pre-ordered one. It better be worth it...I was not happy about spending $35 for one BD...especially since Christmas is right around the corner.

Got mine pre-ordered as well. The price doesn't bother me, the film itself is worth the cost and seeing it in high definition is just gravy as far as I'm concerned.

Now if only Twilight Time can get Sony to fork over the rights to Savini's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, I'd be one happy horror hound! :p

Just pre-ordered one copy. I, too, don't mind the cost, because, I feel, that this might be the only way that we will get Fright Night on Blu-Ray. Can't wait until it ships.

They gonna sell out from traffic from this site alone! I went ahead and bit it after considering the pros and cons. I know I'd kick myself later hearing everyone here loving it and waiting for a price break that probably won't ever come, then be at after market mercy.

Special Features: Isolated Score Track / Original Theatrical Trailers

    ORDERED...

Fuck... 37.05 USD (27.18€) shipped to Europe. Never paid so much for a single Blu-Ray, but this one is worth it... the second can come at 50 USD that I don´t mind.

It seems like Twilight Time is going to cater more to the "classic film" crowd (Fright Night notwithstanding), so I'd be surprised to see anything like The Blob or Night of the Living Dead '90 announced. If anything, Image would be a likelier candidate for those titles. (And by "classic film", I mean pre-1975 movies. :))

Got my pre-order in too.

The price doesn't really bother me, I've spent more for imports. I have the French Blu-ray of The 13th Warrior coming which I paid about the same for.
