They may make great horror films, but the sight of many of them is just as horrific. Will it be Argento, or Romero or maybe even Jackson? It may be distasteful, but what the hell...vote for the ugliest horror director now! :D

Dario Argento, but I suppose that's why he works behind the camera and not in front of it.

They're all really nasty in some way or another. But Peter Jackson just looks like a fat smelly old man.

I voted for Carpenter becasue last time I saw him, he looked like a drowned chicken that came back from the dead.

That was around Halloween time on AMC.

I don't know if I believe in true "ugly" when it comes to human attractiveness. Even terrible people can be drop dead gorgeous and people you aren't attracted to at first can be cute. Not to mention being funny and smart make people who you don't initially find attractive much more appealing. I think opinions change. I don't trust my opinion on people when I used to believe in "this person is unattractive." I think it's more about who doesn't deserve to be called attractive, because they're racist, sexist, Republican, etc. You know what I mean.

Also, to speak to the opposite of the poll's choices, George Romero has always had an amazing smile, Wes Craven was handsome as fuck, Peter Jackson was gorgeous in the 80's and 90's (a little less so since with the extra weight), and Tobe Hooper has one of the sexiest voices of Any director.

I don't get the "Argento is ugly" claims either. When he laughs (which he did quite a bit in the Joe Franklin interview), he's adorable.

If I was going to actually venture off the deep end and say I've seen consistent pictures of one of these directors that made me think "I want to stop looking at this picture," it would be Kubrick. He's looked deranged and unkempt in every picture of him I've seen.

Carpenter got old fast, but I hear he smoked a lot.

I've never seen a picture of Fulci where he didn't look 100 years old. (What's up with that?) But he still took good pictures. He looked distinguished and sophisticated.

As for De Palma, he looks like a regular guy. Nothing especially unattractive about him. I'll bet younger he was pretty catch-worthy.
