With the release of the slasher that launched a million careers, THE FINAL TERROR, finally getting its first DVD & Bluray release this year courtesy of Scream Factory, let's take a look at some horror favorites that still, inexplicably, have not seen the light of day on DVD or Bluray in Region 1. Some of these films haven't had a public release since the early 70s, despite continual demand. Which one would you most like to see make the leap? Scream Factory, Blue Underground, Synapse, Anchor Bay...are you listening?

Jennifer's coming from Kino/Lorber or Scorpion sometime in the near future...

Gate has been released at least twice on DVD (unless there was another Gate movie released around the same time?).

Wasn't the Mutilator suppose to come out in R1 at one point? I thought I recalled seeing news about that a few years ago.

It has never been released anywhere on Blu-ray though.

Yeah, if he's referring to THE GATE with a young Stephen Dorff and all that backwards record-playing, it definitely has been released on DVD - there's even a review for it on the site and an interview with the director as well. Even GATE 2 has an R1 release, although it's a Canadian cheapie.

Poughkeepsie Tapes for me. I still think it is one of the great found footage horror films ever made.

For this thread and poll let's stick to movies that have yet to have a release on DVD and Blu-ray.

Should Night Warning be on the list? It was just released on DVD (as Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker) by Code Red DVD last month.

Massacre at Central High is supposed to be forthcoming from Cult Epics.

Oh shit! I had no idea!

Then maybe DEATH GAME, assuming Grindhouse ever actually releases it.

Missed that...is there any way to get it? Sold out on the Code Red site and not available on Amazon. And Code Red doesn't ship to Canada. :(

Blood Beach would be my first pick from this list. Wasn't it supposed to get a legitimate release earlier this year on dvd somewhere outside of Region 1?

It's been going in and out of stock in the blink of an eye. As far as international shipping goes:

The Keep definitely, followed very closely by Next of Kin, with The Mutilator not too far behind it.

I second The Keep. Would also love a proper release of the great Tangerine Dream soundtrack as well.

Blood Beach, Spasms, and The Kindred would be very welcome additions to my collection.
