Wasn't there some plan to release part 2 in its uncut version? Perhaps that's why the severely edited cut didn't sell well. Part 2 is the one I want uncut the most.

I'd buy a full set, so long as they include all the extra's from the 2004 boxset and deluxe editions plus the New Line dvds.

Parts 6&8 are the only ones they could give us fully uncut since there the ones footage has been found for and with sound. They just need colour timing to match the final look of the films.
I cant see them going to that trouble though. When they release Jason X i hope they give us both cuts like the dvd.

The uncut footage for part 7 is not on film tho, it's on a VHS tape. You could never splice that back into a film. The jump in quality would e horrendous. Doing it for Silent Night, Deadly Night and My Bloody Valentine worked because the footage they spliced back in was film, not video.

And the sales for the Friday the 13th Part 2 blu ray were probably poor because Paramount did a piss poor job releasing it. It had virtually no special features. It truly was a shit release. It's my favorite of the Friday the 13th films and even I didn't buy it for those exact reasons

It is light on features, but is far and away the best looking Friday BD out there yet. I'm happy to have it and would not call it a 'shit release' by any means. Plus it has just as many features as the dvd, just the features suck.

So a boxset with all of the movies?
Any new special features or possibility that we'll get the films uncut?!

A 12 film boxset would be amazing. On bluray of course.

12 films? So Freddy vs Jason and the F13 remake? That's cool.

Guess we need to backtrack a bit until we get an official announcement from Warner Brothers or Paramount.

I'm not either. This sounds like it's far from set in stone.

Yeah I agree. I was surprised on how great the quality was. I thought part 1 looked good, but part 2 was definitely a huge step up.

The good news is Warner have a far greater concept of what the fans want and their BD output is easily tenfold that of Paramount.

so what do i do, then? i have parts 1-3 on blu, so thats no problem. and i've picked up 4 and 6 on dvd, even though i swore i never would, since they were each about $3 and that seemed worth it for the extras alone. so do i now bite the bullet and pick up 5, 7, and 8 deluxe editions on amazon for about $10 a shot? or do i wait it out and see if WB will release some better editions? are the paramount editions officially OOP or soon to be OOP?

Releasing them on dvd doesn't even make sense, especially if they are bare bones. We have an overabundance of dvd releases for this franchise, just release a blu set already. Very weird.
