There's a Lionsgate intro on the new Arrow SHIVERS disc - maybe the 'Gate has finally opened their vault? Now THERE'S one catalog worth mining.
Why all the incessant bitching? They are announcing movies all month with prob the biggest ones saved for last. I for one and happy with most of the announcements so far.
Yea I would have loved a double feature with Carrie and Carrie 2. Shame they couldn't release the original, and knowing Shout, they would have likely released them separately like they did with Pumpkinhead, despite the sequel being quite average.
Awesome! I still have one of those EP VHS tapes of Destroyer that they used to sell in the supermarket checkout lanes. I'm surprised they're pairing it with Scarecrows, I would have thought Scarecrows could stand on it's own. Maybe they'll add After Midnight to From A Whisper To A Scream, that'd be a great pairing.
I've never seen Destroyer and was going to buy Scarecrows as a stand-alone. I hope nothing with Scarecrows is sacrificed to make it a double feature
Its about damn time Scream Factory announced something worthwhile. I was disappointed by DESTROYER the first time I watched it but I’m looking forward to a revisit. I think I was expecting too much from Alzado. He has the perfect look for a slasher but not the acting chops. DESTROYER does deliver the kills and gratuitous T&A. I wish it was a standalone release so maybe we could count on some quality special features. There has to be some wild BTS stories. The trailer is badass
So far, they seem to be giving a nice amount of extras to their double features. Visiting Hours had more extras than a lot of their standalone releases, about 90 minutes of interviews if I recall. They also piled the extras on for TerrorVision.
Shout sure loves slashers (Destroyer for pete's sake!). It's nice to finally see one from the late '80s get a release (as opposed to the usual early '80s). Still waiting for Slumber Party Massacre 2/3 and Sleepaway Camp 2/3 double feature BDs, though.

Jack hammer with a laser scope. It's pointlessly ridiculous but infinitely awesome. Gotta love it. The film is classic!
Can I chime in now and say that I couldn't care less about The Destroyer? It's so silly all the bitching when a title's announce that isn't a slasher. I'm very happy with Ghoulies/Ghoulies II, Food of the Gods/Empire of the Ants, and others even if Scarecrows/Destroyer isn't for me. Not everything is announce at the same exact instance. Just chill out. You'll get your slashers, or mashers, or what-have-you's. Everyone gets a turn.
First look at the DVD cover for the eagerly-awaited release of Super Sentai!: http://news.tokunation.com/2014/10/...tai-zyuranger-complete-series-dvd-cover-21793
I was leaning towards passing on Scarecrow, since I really didn't like it the one and only time I watched it, but making it a double feature with this film (which I've never heard of, but sounds up my alley) makes it much more alluring. I may actually pick that up!
Deadly Eyes wasn't a slasher, and people went apeshit over it. It has to do with what hasn't been on DVD before, or what is worthy of finally being on DVD.
I've never heard of "The Destroyer" but I love Deborah Foreman so I'll check it out. I was going to say they should have paired it with Thanksgiving slasher "Home Sweet Home" but then looked it up and saw that one was with Jake Steinfeld not Lyle Alzado. Wrong musclehead.
