Just ordered for the first time from Shout Factory a Scream Factory Blu-Ray. I ordered the Double Feature of Witchery/Ghosthouse, which streets on June 30th. It was mailed on June 9th First Class. I received it June 11th. I will be purchasing from the directly from now on. Couldn't believe that I received it so quickly. I did just the standard $5.99shipping and I live in Missouri and it came from Indiana.

Yeah, I mentioned a few pages ago how ugly Dog Soldiers looks. I had no idea whether or not the movie was supposed to look that way, since I hadn't seen it since it's Sci-Fi Channel debut. Near the end of the hour long bonus featurette, Marshall mentions that the movie will never look good due to the way it was shot.

It looks like it was sourced from a film print ala The Final Terror or Slaughterhouse. I thought those looked perfectly adequate, but it seems weird for a movie from 2002 to have to resort to that.

***ANOTHER SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCE (and this one is BIG!)***

Today will be one of the more memorable days in our brand's history that's for sure! If you're still trying to catch your breath from our recent announcement of the upcoming Tales From the Crypt films, then steel yourself for the following...ARMY OF DARKNESS - the third film in the Evil Dead franchise, starring Bruce Campbell - is coming to Blu-ray "Scream Factory-style" in October! We will certainly aim to make it the most definitive version to own to date.

We know you'll have lots of questions on this one but we have no concrete details to report at this moment other than that newly-commissioned artwork (yes, its a "Collector's Edition") and pre-order links will be up next month and a full list of extras and specs will appear in early Fall.

While I'm hopefull that this will be the best edition to own I don't see why they think this is a BIG announcement. I feel like every year there's a new release for this film.

My sentiments exactly, the 'Boomstick' edition will remain the final word on this film for me.

    How's this grab everyone?

    ***NEW SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENTS!***

You asked for them...and we got em! Both TALES FROM THE CRYPT films DEMON KNIGHT (1995) and BORDELLO OF BLOOD (1996) will be coming out on 10/20 as separate "Collector Edition" Blu-rays. We have no additional information at this time except that newly-commissioned artwork will be revealed next month and that extras will be announced in Late Summer.
The cat (crypt keeper?) was let out of the bag (coffin?) earlier today over a leak on the internet that caught us by surprise and hence the out-of-the-blue announce today. Originally, we had planned to reveal these two highly-requested titles sometime next week. smile emoticon We hope you are thrilled all the same!

Except for the fact that edition, among others, had a meh transfer for the director's cut.

Yeah but DVDs are fucking shit and the Universal blu-ray left a lot to be desired.

The film has a HUGE fanbase so it's an announcement of a major title. How is this NOT a big announcement?

Because it's always released and apart from the region 3 dvd and maybe Australian DC blu its all been pretty much the same.
Shout can be pretty hit and miss with transfers so who knows how this will look. If it does work out with good transfers and both cuts of the film then I'll likely bite.

Great to hear that AOD will be released Stateside!! Yes! There are numerous versions (mostly down to Anchor Bay), but all have left a lot to be desired. The recent French/German BD's look spectacular with not ot the Theatrical, Directors Cut but also the European Cut (which I grew up with). I imagine this release will either be a disappointment OR a rather large set similar to SF's recent Nightbreed!

Agreed. Another re-re-release. Many of you could wallpaper your kitchen with Army of Darkness discs. Give us something that's languishing on VHS.

I literally threw away the Boomstick edition after I picked up the German Mediabook and couldn't even give away the older one. Tried selling it on Amazon and no one bit. The market is oversaturated with this title. Not sure what Shout could possibly add to their release that hasn't been done to death.

I guess they're looking to cash in on the Evil Dead TV show also coming out this fall! For the people who haven't brought the dozens of previous releases. This will be their go-to.
