I met Alison Lohman at a convention a couple of months ago. She was a sweetheart. I'll definitely pick up Drag Me to Hell (again).

  2. I remember the hype for Drag Me to Hell being really strong before its release and ultimately I believe horror fans were mixed on it. I thought it was a lot of fun and reminded me why I fell in love with Raimi's style.

I rather he make more stuff like that than bloated big budgeted CGI shitfests like his Oz flick.

I rewatched it recently. I don't love the movie, but I do appreciate Raimi's style as you mentioned. My problem with the film is the supporting cast, specifically Justin Long.

  4. Yeah I agree. He seems to have an issue getting together a solid cast in anything these days (everyone in Oz was god awful as well)

I'd like to see him do another horror comedy or a thriller like Simple Plan.

Wow, is "Games" a new announcement or did I just miss it before? I just watched it last year on TCM. Interesting thriller from Curtis Harrington. I'll be glad to get that one.

I've never seen Colossus and until just now I always thought the subtitle was "The ForBIDDEN Project." I will probably pick up all of these.

  8. I just watched my dvd of Behind the Mask the other day. Such a solid movie that deserved a sequel and sadly never got one.

In regards to Shout's new Dawn of the Dead (2004) blu-ray, the scene featuring the nude woman is intact on the uncut version and completely absent on the theatrical cut. What's interesting is the original Universal blu-ray is the only disc which contains the same scene but obscured with blood on the windshield. This is the only way I've ever watched the film other than during its initial theatrical run.

Lol. Well when she's worked on as many movies as she has I seriously doubt that 30 years later she remembers that she filmed Hell Night between November 1980 and January 1981. I mean that is a little specific...come on ronnie.

Fuck I can barely remember what happened last weekend.

I met Linda Blair with my wife in May of this year at a horror convention. She was fine. Autographed a Hell Night poster for us. This was probably long before anyone knew Scream Factory was working on acquiring the rights.

I asked her if any label had reached out to her regarding interviews or anything for a Blu-ray release? She didn't realize there was no Blu-ray release. Doesn't make her a bad person for not knowing. I asked her some questions about the film. Linda talked to us about the filming locations & the director himself.

Linda Blair was friendly the entire time we spoke. You may have caught her on a bad day. Also, it helps if you are polite when interacting with the celebrity guests. If you come across abrasive, they very well may be abrasive right back at you.

HELL NIGHT will be awesome! I think I'll post my newspaper clippings soon - most of them, anyway (I went crazy for the flick back then in '81)
