    OMG!

I thought they killed it with yesterday's announcements, but this tops both!

Scream For Help is one of my blu-ray holy grails. I can't believe this is finally happening!

YESSS! Just came here to post this myself if someone else didn't - this, to me, is Scream/Shout's biggest Blu-ray announcement this year as I fucking LOVE Scream for Help! It's like Harriet the Spy meets House on the Edge of the Park with a dash of Home Alone from the director of Death Wish and writer of Fright Night. Amazing! Can't wait to hear what extras will be.

I can honestly say I've never even heard of Scream for Help.

But Valley Girl is a day one purchase.

I tried watching it after hearing about it here and couldn't get past maybe 15 minutes before I turned it off. It felt really childish (like made for young adults) and the acting felt really forced.

Dude, this was bad lol. It’s on YouTube. I was actually laughing at some spots because the acting is so awful. It’s definitely a Michael Winner film too because of all the nudity and sleaze. The score is really odd too. Overall, the film was kind of amusing, but I’ll probably skip the bluray.

Totally agree. I couldn't see the appeal personally (beside being amusingly bad as you say) and kind of figured it was probably a nostalgia thing lol.

Add me to the list of those who have never heard of Scream for Help but am now curious after all the chatter.

Also add me to the list of wishing for RAD on BD!

The movie's main character and perspective is that of a young adult, so of course it's going to feel childish as that's the point. Then you factor in the Winner sleaze and violence and it goes off the rails (but you wouldn't get that far in only 15 minutes). Like in my above post, I always describe it to people as Harriet the Spy meets House on the Edge of the Park because it feels like a young adult sleuth movie but things go very dark and very Michael Winner sleazy.

I'll have to try and give it another watch. My curiosity is piqued.

I might say The Stepfather meets You're Next by way of an After School Special.

It's wonderful. Probably the least boring movie ever made, as something crazy happens every other minute or so.

After yesterday's discussion, I looked up Scream for Help in the Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film, and they too compare it to The Stepfather. But they also say The Stepfather is much better. So there's that.

Scream for Help > The Stepfather for me personally. The Stepfather might be, technically, a better made movie overall but Scream for Help is far more re-watchable and entertaining and memorable.
