Been following this for, jeez, a few months now and it appears Shout goaded Hart into this lawsuit so it'll be interesting to see what comes of it. Shout has essentially challenged Hart's legal claims to the films and that even if she did hold the films the copyrights had not been properly renewed and are therefore in the public domain. That this tactic seems to have brought them to the negotiating table may even mean they're on to something. Worst case scenario with that is the MST3k episodes go out as public domain and the rest of the fallout is Susan Hart's problem. Reports are yesterday the judge accepted the motion to extend negotiations to March 13th but said she will not extended again. So it's possible we will have a resolution by mid March. If not, then full trial. BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!
