Dood, apparently they have a lot of Freddy vs, Jason’s they need to unload - lol.
So if I got the set ,saw a smudge or two which wiped off, all the right films , and a small scratch in the remake disc( which to be honest I'll maybe get a replacement, if offered, but for this title who cares?) and all looks ok I lucked out?
might as well have a fridaython to be sure...
If those are your only problems, you’re doing well apparently.
So I really don't get it. QC is terrible. Forget the smudges, box dents, etc...
There was nobody in that entire company that could sit down and go through this entire collection a once over? Why do I have to do it?
I just want to sit down, relax and watch a movie. Now I gotta have a pen, paper, clip board next to me to log imperfections?
I got mine today from Amazon and the box has a rip on it but everything else looks fine. I did see a few finger prints but everything else seems good.
Got the call from Bull Moose that mine came in. Apparently they thought they weren’t going to get any in at all, but they wound up getting just enough to cover pre-orders. I was kind of hoping it wouldn’t come in, considering the complaints, but the manager said over the phone to me that all 4 they got in look in great shape so that’s a plus at least...
Mine’s perfect. Everything looks and sounds great, no fingerprints. Sorry to everyone having issues.
What’s the likelihood of getting new boxes that got crushed or ripped up?
The box itself is fairly rigid and the cases inside give it support. Probably the worst to happen would be dented corners on the box, unless there's just massive shipment damage or something.
This is what happened to mine.
Dammmnn, how did that happen?
That is what it looked like under the clear wrap. The Amazon box looked fine. But for a $132 box set it is disappointing.
Amazon will definitely swap that out for you. Or knock off a few bucks.
Got mine today from amazon.ca. Some very, very minor denting along the top back edge and one corner of the box, otherwise no issues. No scratches or fingerprints on the discs. It's a really beautiful set. Sucks that they rushed the release and so many people are having issues. Now to wait and see what kind of disc replacements they offer....
I haven't seen fingerprints, smudges, and scratches since the early days of DVD. Discs popping loose in cases and sloppy factories not using gloves for some reason. Or maybe small production getting the discs in their warehouse and not using gloves to package stuff. But Shout is the company that was doing odd stuff with packaging posters and using media mail for stuff a while back. So it's kind of not surprising.
I see "fingerprints" and smudges on new Blu-rays and UHD's all the time, and perfectly factory sealed products too.
Got mine today, overall it's in pretty good shape. The Final Chapter was upside down, but it had all correct movies. A few minor smudges that wiped off. I used to be a big fan of Scream Factory, not so much anymore. They overprice their shit and the quality just isn't there.
Even if people get no smudges, no scratches, no dents to package, all correct films in collection. There's STILL a problem with a couple of the films regarding, audio, deleted scenes, etc...
So basically, when I eventually get my shipment(supposed Monday) in pristine condition. There's problems.
Picked mine up today and it has no apparent flaws. My Part VII was a floater, but was undamaged. I checked out the opening credits and a few minutes of the first scene in the store of Part 3 and the 3D works, so I’m happy. I’ll take replacement discs when they become available, but honestly I don’t care about any of them beyond the original 8, and I almost never watch any of them past Jason Lives.
