I was somewhat interested in the Perfect Blue steelbook but then I checked Amazon and it was $1 cheaper there. lol
If anyone missed it the Dr. Strange blu-ray is back in stock at Shout Factory. https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/dr-strange-blu-ray?product_id=7819
Caps-A-Holic comparisons for The Craft UHD (which is quite a jump up in detail from the Blu-ray): https://caps-a-holic.com/c_list.php?c=6424
Wasn't sure about putting this here, or in the Shudder thread, but Shudder will be including the Alligator films in their lineup next month. In case you're like me, and haven't seen the films, and are wondering about paying the Shout price for them.
Details for The Message and Lion of The Desert: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=30665 Review for Escape From New York 4K/Blu-ray Collector's Edition: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Escape-from-New-York-4K-Blu-ray/312379/ And unfortunately, there's been a report about some quality issues about The Craft 4K disc (the Blu-ray is unaffected): https://twitter.com/HDMOVIESOURCE/status/1527456231664898055 https://twitter.com/HDMOVIESOURCE/status/1528035839665635328
They removed their review, but I used Wayback Machine, to find it. https://web.archive.org/web/2022052...u-ray.com/movies/The-Craft-4K-Blu-ray/312413/ Another fine example, of why I don't trust reviewers.
Sometimes I wonder if these reviewers ever fully watch the discs at all. It doesn't sound like something you could very easily miss, especially if you're going to give a disc a glowing 5-star rating. The 1st & last screencap comparisons on Caps-a-holic.com show just how bad it is at those points on the UHD encode.
Another "Limited Edition" is announced for The Ninth Configuration: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/the-ninth-configuration?product_id=7832

Shout is becoming a bit like Severin or Code Red for me, where if they're releasing something I want I wish that another more competent company would be handling it instead. I'd like these new Child's Play 4ks but can already see the issues with just scratched discs, let alone any disc errors themselves.
Red Dawn is also coming to 4K UHD on 8/16: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/red-dawn-collector-s-edition-1?product_id=7861

Please note re: FernGully; the rights are no longer with Fox/Disney, so don't think this means a deal between said studio(s) was made (as much as we'd all like to).
Wonder if the delay, is because they (hopefully) wanna make sure they make a proper job with the encoding? It's been pretty hit and miss. The Howling and Alligator, is great, while The Craft was shit. So it's obvious that they got two guys, doing these. Maybe the shitty one, made the encoding for Cat People and Funhouse, they noticed this, and delayed the releases, to give the good one the chance to fix them? Hopefully they fire the dickhead responsible for the crappy discs.
