Did you ever see Heart of America?

Was before House of the Dead. You can see where he could put out a movie like Rampage.

Very underestimated as a director. Labeled as a "video game" movie guy. I think he does those movies for fun.

Genius. Not only does he still get funding but people still watch his movies for some reason. His reputation is that of a scarlet letter of film making but he still makes films.

I am not to familiar with this guy yet. I have 3 of his movies in my collection... 2 of which I have seen. I didn't think much of the 2 I have seen... so been putting off the third.

    I watched:
    - House of the Dead
    - Bloodrayne

    I also own:
    - Alone in the Dark

And going by what I see here... I probably should continue putting it off.

That's a bummer. Heart of America is easily one of Boll's best films.

Hunt down a copy however you can. It's worth watching.

Hmm, Rampage was alright, but really, just alright. Certainly not great, and most definitely not good enough to excuse the long list of Boll's celluloid abortions. Fletcher carried the film through its numerous awkward moments, bad acting and editing. I mostly just felt bad for the poor cameraman who suffers from an awful case of Parkinson's disease.

Actually he has made quite a few "decent films" Some people just can't get his video game films out of their heads and accept the fact the dude is getting better and better with each film.

Hell his latest film, Darfur, has received positive buzz from Ron Howard and George Clooney.

Not bad for a supposed "Idiot"

I give Rampage a lot of credibility because it's kindof my dream movie, subject matter and all. It was done well, done with intelligence, and didn't pull punches. Postal is amazing, balls on the windshield kind of movie, completely humiliating and completely unhinged, like a Troma film done proper. Heart of America is very well done, Tunnel Rats is very well done, Darfur is amazing and Max looks fantastic, I'm really looking forward to that one. I didn't care for Seed, I thought it was careless but the tone is horrific.

His video game movies: House of the Dead, hilarious campy shit. Alone in the Dark, competant and not horrible just unlike the video game at all... Whatever. It's alright. Have not seen Bloodrayne or Dungeon...

He has tremendous potential in any genre. Once again his weakness is his lack of subtlety, if any movie completely bombs that will be the sole reason. People really only hate Uwe for him including footage of the video game in House of the Dead and haven't forgiven him for it (i.e. subtlety, i.e. Uwe) (remember the anticipation? and then when people started seeing clips and test screenings and started bitching about that? Yeah, that's the sole reason and I have yet to see an objective reason to dismiss his work since).

Watched Rampage. It was surprisingly cohearent and compelling. Ginger Snaps babe was in it too so there's everyone's excuse to give it a shot. ;)

    Thanx McChrist

Rampage was one of my favorites of the year. Showed it to both my mom and my sister and they loved it.

My mom also loved Seed (I didn't show her the opening, though) I'm also a fan of that one but can understand the dislike for it from Boll fans. It's a tough pill to swallow.

Yeah, Seed left a bad taste in my mouth (exactly because of my criticisms that I have of Boll's work). That being said it is probably one of the darkest films of the decade, and it wasn't even that extreme. I simply didn't like it. That being said, Rampage is my favorite film of 2010.

Definitely not an idiot, he seems to be a pretty intelligent and articulate guy.

Out of all of his movies I've only seen House Of The Dead and Rampage. Rampage was great, House...not so much. I do want to see some more of his stuff though, especially Tunnel Rats. I'm also very interested in seeing how his Holocaust movie turns out.

I've been giving some Uwe films a chance given he impressed me with Rampage.

I watched In the Name of the King recently. I'd say it had great potential but fell short. If I were 10 years old, I'd probably have watched it 20 times over by now though.

Bloodrayne was actually a nice surprise. As a fan of the games I approached this one with great caution and ended up finding it genuinely entertaining. There were no points where I felt the need to check out of the experience. It had a lot of good things going for it. I thought Ben Kingsley was cool, Meatloaf was amazing and I really liked Loken as Bloodrayne. She actually developed the character pretty good I would say. Too bad they couldn't keep her on in the sequels.

Bloodrayne: Deliverance. This one was throw away. Disappointed that Bloodrayne wasn't Loken. It had some interesting ideas and a pretty good performance from Zack Ward, but just not enough to save it.

I'm going to hunt down Third Reich and re-watch Alone in the Dark. My hopes aren't up though. Glad Bloodrayne was as decent as it turned out to be. I don't know why it got so much hate. It made me want to play the games again afterwards
