Blu-ray.com reviews The Unholy: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Unholy-Blu-ray/178062/#Review
Shot them an email - they wrote back that most of their copies don't have the slips, which is BS going by maybrick's post. How large of a chain is Bullmoose? Maybe their larger stores have copies with slips while many of the smaller ones don't? I'm not going to obssess over it but I won't deny it's annoying. From now on I'll just preorder from Diabolik.
It's a relatively small chain with most stores based in Maine. Ours is actually considered the farthest out. I have no idea how new releases go out, whether they are stored in a central warehouse by Bull Moose and then dispersed or whether product is shipped directly to the individual stores from the distributor. Maybe we were the only ones to receive the slips.
Interesting. I have only bought stuff from them twice, but neither orders involved slipcovers. What's funny is that I have definitely ordered slipcover Blu's several times from DeepDVD, BestBuy, Amazon, etc... and had every one of them with the slips. These are the places people complain about. So either I'm lucky or you just got unlucky this one time.
Try emailing Lionsgate. Maybe they could shed some light on the situation. Ask if ALL titles with slipcovers ship directly to these stores with slips intact or some without. Then I would even ask if they could send you a slipcover, can't hurt.
Mine came from Amazon today without a slipcover, so it's not just Bullmoose.
Wow, that's lame. It sounds like it is Lionsgate at fault again, as Amazon are usually solid with Slipcovers on the release day/week.
I'll definitely wait for this one to go cheaper somewhere, if it's not even guaranteed to include a Slipcover from multiple places.
I went ahead and emailed Lionsgate and asked if they'd send me a slipcover. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask; I'm no worse off if they tell me to go to hell. I'll post what their response is if I get one. Some may think it's a petty gripe, but part of the appeal of these Collector's Series type things is uniformity and I have every title in their series thus far with The Warlock Collection on pre-order. I paid me money so I'd like me slipcover.
Bullmoose wrote back that they're expecting a batch of slipcovers and are asking people who didn't get one if they want one. I guess they got a lot of complaints and decided to contact LG and do something about it. Good for them.
Awesome to hear!
Well...Lionsgate is going to send me a replacement slipcover. I sent them my Amazon receipt and then a photo of the UPC. Pretty happy they're doing this because they really didn't have to.
I didn't get a slipcover with The Unholy either, but just received a replacement direct from LionsGate.
To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the movie when I saw it years ago. I'm game to give it another try though. The main reason I ordered it is because I have the rest of the Vestron line (including their Leprechaun collection, technically not part of the line), all with slips. Glad I was able to obtain a slip, my Vestron Collection would look weird without one.
Really looking forward to the warlock collection. Bring on the reviews.

Why So Blu reviews the Warlock Collection: http://whysoblu.com/warlock-collection-blu-ray-review/
Like me this reviewer prefers Armageddon overall (rightfully so, it's a bloody good time! ). I might just grab the German blu when that dips in price.
I wish Felsher would throw more hints for upcoming titles. I'm beginning to think the line is going cold.

Damn, I forgot how horrible that old DVD of the first movie was
Gonna get the German discs, especially since part 2 is less cropped, and has better contrast.
And I don't want that third pile of shit movie, in my collection.
Getting the media book for part 2?
