I feel like I've read this rumor without seeing it in print as verified anywhere.
Perhaps this dates me but I saw Eyes of Fire in the theater. I remember virtually nothing about it with the exception that I liked the poster.
Rights reverted to Wingnut Films (Jackson) for Bad Taste, Dead Alive, and Meet the Feebles quite a few years ago, 2013 I believe - hence why the Lionsgate Blu-ray has been out of print since then, and he is/was supposed to be restoring them himself but nothing concrete has come of those restorations as far as progress, news, etc. since the rights reverted. Dead Alive turned 25 this August, so would have been a perfect time for a new restoration... but until Jackson actually says anything about them continue to hold your breath.
Let's hope 'restoring' does not mean 'pointless tinkering'. I really just want his older films warts and all, but with as much clarity as the source material allows.
Randy preacher and his flock are exiled from town and into the wilds of colonial America. In addition to less-than-friendly Native Americans, they eventually have to contend with malevolent spirits deep within the woods. There are some legitimately creepy moments and effective make-up, even if the FX are pretty DIY at times. The narrative doesn't totally go off the rails even when things get weird. I like it quite a bit.
First 2 titles of 2018 have been revealed; Dragon and Beyond Re-Animator!!!:
Dagon is awesome. Great news.
Good stuff, hopefully beyond re-animator will be uncut, as the lionsgate dvd was the only one from around the world cut!
Holy shit, DAGON! That'll be a purchase for me.
i am definitely getting dagon.i wish someone would release necronomicon book of the dead.
Beyond Re-animator very nice! An uncut version would be much appreciated.
I'm excited for Dagon, but I just fucking hated Beyond Re-Animator. Having only seen it once, a re-watch might be in order, but I might have a tough time getting past the loathing to even get started.
Yeah, I don't love, love it. It's more of being the Re-animator films all being on Blu.
