    Wow, great cover! Definitely buying.

Is this the first "Limited Edition" from the Vestron line?

Don't worry, they're always $40 at first, it'll drop closer to a decent price soon. For some reason I remember not digging this one very much, I've had the DVD in a box of stuff to sell for years but I've never gotten around to actually getting rid of it. Glad it's coming out though because I know a lot of people want this one.

Nope, all the Lionsgate Vestron's have been labeled as limited edition.

    ???

Guess they decided to throw out the nostalgia factor because Dagon is too new to have been released by Vestron. Too bad, because there are still hundreds of titles that are authentically “Vestron” titles still to be rereleased under that logo.

I could be wrong, but I think Lionsgate has already released most of the "authentic" Vestron titles it still has at it's disposal. The label, as applied today, is mostly a novelty.

Any news on which version will be included? R or uncut?

Hasn't been confirmed as all that was posted above is all that's been announced on this title so far but based on their other Vestron Blu-ray releases being uncut I'd assume this will be too - hopefully. I know their DVD releases previously of it were the edited R-rated cut so who knows until they actually confirm it themselves...

I never understood why the DVD was rated R and cut, this had premiered on a US TV channel in a extensive cut form. It was not going to cinema, why get it rated just release it uncut.

I only found out about it being censored many years later, and that it had been released uncut elsewhere, I've got the uncut dvd now and there is not much difference, but still.

So they’re basically going to be releasing all of Yuzna’s “Fantastic Factory” productions from the early ‘00s onto blu. That’s cool, but they’re not Vestron.

Having revisited this not long ago it's an easy pass for me. Easily the worst of the series and just not one I can see myself revisiting again.

Likewise, this didn't hold up for me either. And neither did Bride of Re-Animator actually on re-watch a few years ago... The original is the only one for me in that series. Dagon is OK, but also not something I'll be getting as it too wasn't as good on the second spin. Most of Yuzna's directorial stuff is pretty so-so, Society is about the only one that has held up for me and even that I sold off. I prefer his producer-only flicks.

This will be interesting to see which turns out better.

Vestron or Umbrella. Only thing we know is Umbrella is going to be cheaper probably. And that Umbrella is including Bride with Beyond. So if you don't need/want Bride, then go with Vestron.

I dig Beyond Re-Animator. Probably like it more than Bride Of Re-Animator, truth be told. Neither are anywhere near as good as the original, but they're fair gory fun. And thank goodness they're including the music video! Hahaha

Going back to Dagon, this may be a controversial opinion, but is Stuart Gordon one of the only "Masters Of Horror" whose work has remained consistent? Seems like a lot of the masters had a decline throughout the '90s or '00s (with a few exceptions, like Craven's Scream films, etc), but Stuart Gordon was cranking out some of his best work in the '00s. Edmond, Stuck, and King Of The Ants are all top-notch movies, and his Masters Of Horror episodes were stand-outs of each season.

King of the Ants and Edmond are fucking amazing. Both deserve special edition blu rays.
