Good that it's getting a release for all the people who want it, but it's not for me, I watched 2 & 3 recently and found them both bad, part 3 being slightly worse that part 2 but that's not a biggie as I thought the second was a complete turd. so.....

I haven't watched Candyman 3 since we first rented it upon release. All I remember about it was it was set during some sort of Mexican street festival. That's about it. I'm not a completionist but I feel compelled to pick this up when it drops. For twelve bucks it won't be much of a loss.

I think I'd rather have twelve bucks.

Well I got to give it to them that that art is pretty epic. Wow.

It's the kind of art I'd LOVE to get on a limited 18 x 24 poster.

The art oddly reminds me of this old ditty:

    Blu-ray.com reviews Steel Dawn: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Steel-Dawn-Blu-ray/299526/#Review

I haven't had a chance to compare it to my old German Blu-ray, but the transfer looks about the same based on memory.

Agreed! As crappy as the movie is... that is a sweet looking cover.

Oh well, I've bought every previous release in the line... so I'll surely get this one too. Bullmoose should sell it for under $12. At least the SRP on these is cheaper now than when the line first started.

It also seems like Candyman: Day of the Dead is essentially an "upscale": https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=17066&d2=17067&c=6375

    It's bad: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=2&x=589&y=168&d1=17066&d2=17067&s1=187803&s2=187819&l=0&i=8&go=1

Even the Amazon streaming version (with all the compression glory) looks somewhat better than the Vestron Blu-ray.

The movie isn't that good, but still how did this shit happen? The German Blu-ray was licensed from Lionsgate after all.

How many of these Vestron releases have been bested by import Blu-rays with better transfers/encodes? I've lost count...

Yeesh, looks like they blew their budget on the cool cover. Seriously, how odd if there's a better print out their from the same studio.

It looks like they took the same HD master that NSM had and further "remastered" it... by slathering a layer of mayonnaise over it, making it look blurry and out of focus.

Yeah, I don't think they ever stated it was going to be a strictly Horror line of products. Vestron's VHS/Laserdisc releases back in the day were literally all types of genres. Besides, they already did Steel Dawn and that isn't remotely Horror.

They've always stated this on the back cover of every Vestron Blu-ray release:

Until they altered it to this back in 2020:

I always thought that spoke for itself. They never stated "Horror" in either from the very first release.

    Review: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dream-a-Little-Dream-Blu-ray/93660/#Review

It's funny that a pic they used on the back cover of Dream a Little Dream is from a completely different film:

That often used to happen on VHS releases, but I haven't seen it lately on any newer Blu-ray releases.

I don't recognize the 1st pic from it either... but no clue what it's from.

It's from the same movie. Pretty funny.

I picked it up at WalMart this morning.

The first 15 or so Vestron releases were primarily horror, weren't they? It wasn't until Class of 1999 that they veered "off course". I don't blame anyone for thinking the line was strictly horror. Maybe Vestron should've mixed it up a little from the beginning. I fully expect to see the likes of Dirty Dancing and Earth Girls Are Easy on the line at some point. I hope they get around to 'Neon City" - my personal most-anticipated Vestron wishlist title.
