Is there any reason to think they'll get rights to the original? Considering the Fox disc only came out within the last year or so. I like Return of the Fly (love the giant fly head!), and I like it being in this set, provided they don't acquire the original at some point - that would be a bit strange. I'd forgotten to mention Theatre of Blood and Madhouse, but those are both great as well. I haven't been able to find much to like about the films Price made with Gordon Hessler, though. Aside from Cry of the Banshee's animated title sequence by Terry Gilliam, they're all kind of dreadful.
Actually, House on Haunted Hill is public domain as well, so that makes it 2 PD titles in this set. And yes, it is great that it seems they decided to cover PD films as well...which could mean great things for Night Of The Living Dead.

Was finally able to get Volume 1. My God what a great set. I hadn't seen most of the films and barely remembered the ones I had seen. Cannot wait to get Volume 2.

I had it pre-ordered and got it on Tuesday. I was hoping perhaps Groupon would have a cheap pre-order price deal like they did with the first set...but nothing came about. I paid $50 and it's well worth it. The packaging is basically identical to the first set, so they look good side by side on the shelf. I wonder if Shout will do a Volume III, since there are more Price movies they could do for that: Tales of Terror, Madhouse, Twice Told Tales, etc..
I paid $48 and some change using Blowitoutahere's 15% off. I preordered the set from Amazon back in the Summer for $60, which I still thought was reasonable but canceled just before the street date because of, um, financial problems . Anyway, I got this mostly for LAST MAN ON EARTH - never seen the other films in the set.
I'll have my copy today. I took advantage of Amazon's free trial month of Prime to receive free 2 day shipping. I don't know why I'm getting it today as opposed to Tuesday, but I'm not complaining.
I've been holding out for the same but I figured that was a one off, Shout has a tendency to keep their prices up. I'll have to pony up soon as the PBS prologue/epilogues are awesome.
Awesome, thanks Ashley! That's almost as good as the excellent GroupOn deal for Vol 1., which came out to $43.68 with shipping.
