I was a huge USA Up All Night fan, but don't remember ever seeing this one. I recently bought the DVD. Is the alternative TV cut worth seeing and why?
They filmed alternate scenes for anything regarding nudity. For example the bubble bath sequence is replaced with them jumping up and down on a bed in lingeriƩ.
The disc should arrive tomorrow, which means I will watch it this weekend. I'll chime in here before the weekend is over.
I'm eager to hear about pigs! Ordered mine via diabolik, it'll be a while longer for mine to arrive. Will definitely be checking in to read your thoughts. Going by the original title (the 13th pig) and the description stating 12 pigs, something tells me the pigs themselves get a bit more exposure than what we've seen (or mostly heard) in the cut that's been out for years on video. If I recall correctly, not even the book "nightmare usa" touches this original version. Buried treasure!!

Watched PIGS tonight. First time viewing. What a weird movie. Movie was definitely different than I originally thought it may be, but I enjoyed how it turned out. The extra features are interesting. That Exorcism opening, wow, I could only imagine watching a version of the movie with that opening. Definite Exorcist rip off.
I watched the two on-camera interviews with Toni Lawrence and Charles Bernstein. Both are great but the Bernstein interview was especially interesting to me since he's gone on to score quite a few genre films. Would love to hear his comments on some of his other scores. I know he's in the Nightmare on Elm Street documentary but does anyone know if he takes part in any other DVD or BD special features?
This is a fantastic blu. To the surprise of no one, the new cut looks leagues better than Troma's. All of the awkward asylum/escape footage is gone, as is the opening murder. I wasn't able to compare much else beyond the opening, as I didn't have time to watch all of Troma's version. The VS disc was my first viewing of Pigs, and I will definitely be watching it again. The extras are well worth watching as well. Update: No surprise here, but the VS director's cut omits the coda where Lynn picks up a hitchhiker. The director's cut ends with the sheriff examining Lynn's pendant.

Surprised no one knew about this; Dolemite is coming to Blu-ray/DVD combo pack next month (and I mean a month from this day!)!!!: http://www.amazon.com/Dolemite-Blu-ray-Combo-Rudy-Moore/dp/B01D1YE4QW/ Film will have widescreen and full screen options.
Actually, we did know about it. Was announced, along with Sweet Sweetback's Badassss Song and Bakshi's Coonskin, almost exactly a year ago in this very thread: http://www.horrordvds.com/community...ome-new-genre-label.44094/page-19#post-789298
I'm aware of the press release, it's just I thought no one was aware that it was coming out this year (or next month for that matter).
