I agree, the Wolf story line could have went on a bit longer. There seemed to be more to tell.

    Glenn
was Negan's example. Although just prior to that,
    Abraham
got the arrow through the eye that Denise did in the show, so I suspect he may 'up to bat' himself.

Of course there's other characters that are and aren't alive from both. In the books
    Carol
commited suicide (but was much weaker than the show version), and
    Andrea
    is alive and
Rick's girl, and the resident sniper (no Sasha in teh books)
    .

Wow...reading this really shows how much they changed from the comic book. I am actually really surprised.

Sasha did sort of have a parallel in the books, though. Originally, Tyreese had a daughter named Julie that made a suicide pact with her boyfriend. The TV writers seemed to completely rewrite the character and turned her into Tyreese's sister Sasha.

I'm a big fan of the series, even with all of its missteps. Granted, I've never read the comic book so I don't have to be let down when it strays.

I didn't care for the finale either, considering how enjoyable the rest of the season was.

But if people don't enjoy the show anymore, I honestly don't understand why they feel the need to keep watching and being so miserable. It seems odd to me, personally. No judgement.

Speaking only for myself, cuz I'm fucking addicted! I know there is greatness possible and keep hoping they get back to some great shit. I'm sure I'll give season 6 another try with lower expectations. I didn't care a lot for S5 during it's broadcast either, but loved it when I marathoned the BD. It doesn't make me miserable, it just irks me when they do dumb shit, and there was lots of that in s6. Plus I have to look out for zombie cameos!

That makes sense to me; this wasn't their strongest season, particularly the finale. I don't know anything about Negan so it didn't really pack much of a punch for me.

I've also found past seasons more enjoyable back-to-back.

Great season that maintains the fun and surprises. Loved the episode with Maggie and Carol--such an unexpected, "small" episode in the middle of this big status quo shift. I was really impressed with the satellite siege episode--so much action and in a well-paced amount of time. A highlight of the series for me. But, I am pretty disappointed in Carol's personality shift in the last few episodes.

As for the cliffhanger, :D--classic. Honestly, despite being a tactic to get viewers to tune in next season,
I'm not convinced the writers even "knew" who they were going kill at that point and just needed a shocker.

I don't know... What is this an ISIS video? We get it, you're a bad guy. Get back to the zombies. And yes, I don't care what the comic book showed, the scene/comic was dumb and unnecessary imho. Kill Negen, his "followers" fold like a cheap suit.

P.S. - After that episode I wonder if Greg Nicotero (and the writers of the comic book for that matter) is/are a fan of Martin Scorsese's Casino. Think about it.

Brutal opener for sure. Did anyone read the interview with one of the higher ups at AMC? They spoke about a "Walking Dead universe", similar to that of Star Trek. That opener is likely going to break lots of ratings records. Seems the gravy train is just starting. Hopefully we'll get more quality zombie stuff from AMC for many years to come. I'm happy for Robert Kirkman. Great guy and very down to earth. Happy to have met him several times many years ago before Walking Dead blew up in popularity. Even a few weeks back at NYCC, he was walking around the show floor and happily stopping to take pictures with fans. It was pretty cool.

Thought the S7 premiere was really intense. What I don't get, from a purely logical standpoint, is why humanity would section off into groups and fight each other when they're all essentially trying to survive the same cataclysm. Doesn't it make more sense for all the survivors to form an even larger collective and work towards one massive sustainable community instead of a few jackasses trying to be the "leader"? The leader of what? There's no real world left to speak of.

Because human behavior isn't logical - never has been. If it was, we would all be one happy family.

Great premiere. Loved the hanging zombie set-piece, and how
Rick had to cling to a zombie to escape zombies. And then, of course, the head tore off!
That felt very 'Nicotero' to me.

I was very entertained throughout. Stakes were raised!
